To give you some idea of the geography we're talking about in this series, here's an illustration produced by the selfsame Rick Parker for MARVEL AGE in 1992, depicting the then-Bullpen office space and players. This is the same building--387 Park Avenue South, 10th Floor--that my internship was served in, though the floor was refurbished and restructured just before this picture was done, so as to create more office space for everybody.
The offices of Bob, Craig and Greg used to be in the upper right corner, in the space occupied by Virginia Romita and her Bullpen buddies in this image, And you can find 1992 me on the left side, sharing a windowless office with my second assistant, Mindy Newell.
Of all the people included in this image, fifteen years later only Ralph Macchio, Dan Carr and myself are still on staff, and only a couple of other people--Tom DeFalco, Dave Sharpe, Fabian Nicieza--still do any sort of regular work for Marvel.
