Now that CIVIL WAR has wrapped up, and we can speak a bit more openly about some of the stuff that comes next, I've got a whole flurry of titles that I'm excited about that I'm going to want to plug here. Chief among them is MIGHTY AVENGERS #1, which is on sale in a week, as well as CAPTAIN AMERICA #25.

And in stores today is IRON MAN #15, the first issue to carry the DIRECTOR OF S.H.I.E.L.D. sub-heading. Those who've been following the series for the past few months know how expertly Dan and Charlie Knauf have been combining taut political thriller with slam-bang super hero action. Well, in this next storyline they really get to go to town. But the real revelation is new penciler Roberto De La Torre, especially as colored by the amazing Dean White. This is a stunningly beautiful book, as anybody who clicks on the jpegs lining the side of this entry can see, and I'm quite happy with how it's turned out. Hopefully, most of you folks will agree if you take the time to check it out.

More later.

Nice variant cover. Has a Steranko feel to it.

Here's hoping the storytelling will be better than it was in Civil War.

Avengers
Tom, I'm curious. At one point when MA was just being discussed, you said you'd still see NA as the successor to the Avengers title (for whenever Marvel restores the proper numbering to the book). Do you still feel that way, because MA certainly would seem to have more in common with the previous title than NA does (based on solicits and interviews).

Mystic Arcana
I was really excited to see this series announced. I really hope Marvel is planning on bringing Scarlet Witch back. I know the preview said her story in this series would be a flash back, but PLEASE make this character viable again. If Mystic Arcana is as good as Annihilation, i really hope Wanda has an active role.

yeahbutwait...
Scarlet Witch was damned by her character's power increases. She is so powerful that the writers had to get her out of the way. I guess it would be cool to reboot her now that Hawkeye has "rebooted" her. If they took away the reality bending powers she might be a better character.

Question for Tom
Did I miss something from the last issue of Ironman and this one? I seem to recall Happy being on his death bed in the hospital and now we're right in the middle of things but at the same time, the Mandarin sub-plot appears to be continuing.

Was this a result of trying to establish a starting point to reflect the 'new' title?

Interesting concept
I think Stark as director of Shield is a very interesting story concept, I just hope he will stay in that position for some time and that writers aren't already planning how to get the MU back to status quo ante

Secretary of defense
Really enjoyed the issue, and loved the art, but should an African-American Secretary of Defense really be named Kooning? Obviously it wasn't intentional, but just thought it was an odd choice.

You Killed Cap?
The inexplicable character behavior of the irresponsible Civil War mess was one thing but killing off Captain America? I hope somebody has something up their sleeve to explain that one with an ingenius comeback because right now from a fan that looks like the mother of all really bad ideas from the "House"

The covers are great
I really dont collect alot of the iron man issues, I have picked up about 3 or 4 in the last few months. Right now Im reading some other stuff so I havnt had the time to go straight into iron man. Although when I am going to the stands I do see those nice covers, I gotta say whoevers coloring them up like that really is making magic.
