The 2009 Marvel Grand Chili Cookoff

Here at merry Marvel, we like to eat. With an office full of foodies, putting together some sort of cookoff or eating contest is a no-brainer. Thankfully, Special Projects Assistant Editor John Denning organized our second annual Grand Chili Cookoff.
John (along with some help from staffers Raphael Rodriguez and Nelson Ribeiro) gathered together seven epically skilled cooks to whip together awesome eats—and lovingly assault the taste buds of Marvel NYC!
Winner: 1st place AND People’s Choice: Darren Montablano (Creative Services/Brand Assurance Coordinator) with “Montablano’s Marvelous Mojo” (recipe to be posted on his food blog: http://fullmontalbano.blogspot.com) Second Place: Lauren Sankovitch (Assistant Editor) with “Meaty Chiliciousness!” Third Place: Jody Leheup (Assistant Editor) with “Texas Twister Chili”
Other participants were: Jeanine Schaefer (Associate Editor) with “21-18 Mole Olé” John Denning (Assistant Editor) with the “5-to-1 Longshot” Peter Olsen (Senior Director of Web Development) with “Farmer’s Market Chili” Damien Lucchese (Technology Coordinator) with “Saddle Stitch Chili”
