Live from the Creative Summit, Day 1, 10am-11am

Technically, it's day 2 of the Summit. Yesterday, there were office-by-office presentations that went by so fast I could smell my brain hurting. So much info, so little time. But this, my friends is the coolest place to be today. The Marvel creative retreats, or summits if you will, are where the Marvel editorial staff and a handful of creators come together to hash out the plans for the Marvel U. (not to mention the Ultimate U. and beyond) for the next year-plus.

Things are just starting to get rolling as everyone's had their breakfast, coffee and settled in. In addition to the staffers here, there are a handful of great creators. Dan Slott's sitting a few seats away. Greg Pak's across the room. Jeph Loeb, Joe Quesada and Brian Michael Bendis form an intense creative force in the front of the room. It's as unto a tornado of creative energy syphoned into one room.
Dan Buckley and Joe Quesada kicked things off by talking about the end of Civil War. Hoo-boy! Between that and the kick-off of The Initiative, it’s gonna rock!

Spider-Man! 2007 is gonna be huge for Spidey. HUGE! New villains, new supporting characters, plenty of familiar faces and more.
Some of the things that happen to the supporting cast...man, it's gonna be "off the chain" as the kids say.
10:15
Seriously. Fans are going to go nuts about Spidey. In a good way.

Publisher Dan Buckley just jokingly said to Bendis, "You almost completely buckled under the pressure." Everyone laughed and Bendis took it in stride, ribbing back. What was that about? It has to do with New Avengers #26.

Remember The Hood, the character created by Brian K. Vaughan and last seen in Beyond? You should.
