Bendis has left the building! Warm goodbyes and good-natured ribs are exchanged and everyone tries to push on.

Some big concepts and ideas related to Civil War: The Return take the fore. A series may find its way out of that and could definitely have some relevance with numerous other books and stories.

A wave of wild enthusiasm has swept over the room as an idea being hashed out has found an excellent direction. It's full of twists, reveals and some big emotional moments.

Joe Q. was out of the room for the birth of the idea. Loeb leads the charge to explain and pitch it to the EIC. Did it work? You betcha, and he answers back with another twist to the idea that everyone digs. There's a real, tangible creative energy here. And yup, it's remarked that Bendis left too early. Sucka!

Dan Slott pitched another tweak. Brevoort, in a moment of faux rage, pretended to break his mini Poland Spring water bottle and stab Dan. Laughter echoes through the room.

Associate Editor for the trades department, Jen Grunwald texts Bendis about the developments. His reaction? "Argh"

Well, that's a wrap! Everyone's very happy with the state of things and the direction Marvel's heading in.

While cleaning up and walking about the room, I came across a post-it notepad that Bendis had been doodling in. It seems that the acclaimed writer (and sometimes artist) also fancies himself a bit of an animator. Enjoy this video of the flipbook in action that I took with my camera and forgive my shoddy flipbook-working skills.

Hmm. I'm thinking of eBaying the Bendis flipbook. Maybe buy myself one of those We machines all the kids love.
