No, it's NOT a licensed Marvel product...
2007-11-02 15:44:48
...but a few people have sent me links to this pepper spray-shooting bracelet today.

And, yes, I think it's totally awesome [perfect for those times when I need to calm down new Marvel.com assistant editor Ben Morse], but all the folks dubbing this a Spider-Man bracelet—ya gotta stop.

Think of the kids!!

I mean, sure, safety is a top priority [I live in Bed Stuy, Brooklyn, 'nah mean?] for many people and this is a pretty clever adoption of comic tech, but it's even red and blue like Spidey! It's not a toy, and in no way associated with Marvel.

Oy.

Good Times.
It was only a matter of time before something like this showed up.
After the Jackal Files was released with the basic concept designs with how the webshooters functioned my friends and I designed a variation of our own in metal working class.
Although we couldnt manufacture Pete's pattented webbing we were able to build Scarlet Spider style stingers.

Needless to say - this is VERY dangerious and I would not encouage others to do the same. This product might look like fun but I can understand why MARVEL does not want any association with it.

Play Safe Kids!
