The Birth of ... BLOGDOK!
2007-05-24 11:43:06
Greetings, tiny-headed comic book (finger quotes) "FANATICS!" This is MODOK speaking!

Refreshing your pitiful web browser is futile. Futile, I tell you!!! After many long decades of plotting (and calculating) silently in the shadows, I, MODOK!, have decided to take over the Interweb with my sleeper minions that riddle the Marvel Comic Book Corporation like some insidious cancer.

For those of you unfamiliar with me or my work, feel free to familiarize yourself with my many glorious deeds before continuing.

Why, you may ask, after all these years, have I--MODOK!--decided to bear my soul to the web-surfing public? I know what you're thinking--or, more accurately, using my highly evolved 144-lobed brain, I can
predict what you're thinking with 99.9999999982% accuracy:

"Hey, dude, like, come on, isn't this just some, y'know, cheap marketing ploy to promote the July-premiering series Super-Villain
Team-Up/MODOK's 11
in which you gather together an eclectic team of Marvel's Most Wanted to pull off the greatest heist in MU history (final order cutoff date is June 5; preorder now)?"

In a word?

Yes.

BUT NOT ENTIRELY!!!

For decades the Interweb has been snickering at my expense.

Oh, no. DON'T TRY AND DENY IT INTERWEB!!! I have spies everywhere! My 144-lobed brain, the source of the aforementioned derision, can surf thousands of web pages simultaneously, so it's child's play for me to discover the posts from the likes of this wise guy or this insult in Halloween costume form.

And then there's the "Journal of MODOK Studies". Some of my beekeeper henchmen were all like, "Hey, what's the big deal, Boss? It's kind of flattering, really!"

I promptly cut down those fools with my mind blasts!! Your "hip", "kitsch", "it's-so-lame-it's-cool" posturing doesn't fool me, Journal for MODOK Studies! I know when I'm being mocked! Your "Gen-X" humor should have stayed in 1997 where it belonged! When I get ahold of you, it will be your collectible LAST issue!

My mind has found images such as this one, What If MODOK Got An Itch?

Oh, I do have an itch, I can assure you--TO CUT YOU DOWN WITH MY MIND BLASTS!!

My assassins should be arriving any minute at the homes of Jeff Parker and Cameron Stuart for passing around this indignity last fall like it was the village bicycle:

Oh, and a personal note for the "Nextwave" creative team of Warren Ellis and Stuart Immonen: Don't worry. It's a total coincidence that your San Diego Comic Convention hotel rooms just happen to be right next to each other… No, no, I'm not just waiting until I can destroy both of you with one fell swoop... And it has nothing at all to do with this:

Really.

To make a long story short, Interweb, I have had enough of being the butt of other people's jokes! The object of other people's "ironic" humor! It's time for MODOK to tell his side of the story! It is time for MODOK to get a piece of his own action!!

That's right world, no more second-hand funny business! Now you're getting the "411" straight from the horse's mouth! Now I shall unleash myself on the world!

IN BLOG FORM!!!

TOMORROW: Something funny happened to me at Starbucks and I shall tell you about it.

There were many deaths.

Huh
I'd always just thought of you as "that funny looking Avenger, or maybe Iron Man, villain." But yeah, you're pretty amusing. And that Marvel Adventures: Avengers issue WAS quite embarassing. However, I thought that article on you that you linked us to was pretty complimentary. You might want to consider NOT killing that guy.

Then again, that's sort of all you do. Huh?

Oh MY
YES YES YES.

Apprently Joe Q didn't listen to me at the Cup O Joe panal back at the NYCC. I said MODOK was over exposed (and I wanted Nextwave to come back), but you know what, I was wrong.

You can never have too much MODOK

Truer words have never been spoken, cel3457.

I'm on board.
If MODOK can make blog entries with more consistency than the vast majority of the bloggers @ Marvel.com then count me in. Besides Brevoort, we hardly ever get any participation from anyone except when they're hocking something. Without Tom this section would almost be completely useless.

So, MODOK, if you want to start posting your ramblings, go ahead. This section could use some new content.

Aren't you forgetting that time you were taken down by Squirrel Girl?

Posted by Tuckenie on 2007-05-24 17:25:48
Hacked
Wow, you've already been beaten to the punch on Livejournal and Myspace...

Good effort though.

You got everything wrong.
You are not MODOK. This is very clear to me because the real MODOK would recognize that the Journal of (not "for" as you typed earlier) MODOK Studies is not, nor has it ever been a "so-lame-it's-cool" publication. The real MODOK would never refer to "mind blasts" because he knows they are called "brain-blasts". The real MODOK would never refer to his henchmen as "beekeepers" since this is, in itself, a derisive nickname for MODOK's highly trained legions. You've got a lot of work to do before you convince anyone "MODOK". You may want to begin by reminding your Editor-In-Chief who you actually ARE, because he thinks you are Mojo. That's right. Your boss thinks you are a lame Longshot villain!

Sincerely,
George M. Tarleton

Oh poor, deluded George Tarleton...
...did not the possibility occur to you that these alleged "errors" to which you refer are in fact but the most insidious aspect of the disinformation and misdirection campaign that could be the sole purpose of BLOGDOK itself?

OR PERHAPS IN FACT I DO NOT HAVE ANY IDEA WHAT I'M TALKING ABOUT!!

Your puny two-lobed mind can never be sure, not even a mind that bears my former (human) cognomen.

If you think you know so much about me, let me ask you: What does the "M" in "George M. Tarleton" stand for?

NO IT DOES NOT STAND FOR "MODOK"!!!

Posted by I MODOK on 2007-05-24 23:07:19
Your big head frightens me...
Wow, MODOK!! Imagine my suprise when, researching you on the interweb, I came across this place!

I can only hope over the next few weeks you'll share with us your amazing and storied history.

Until then, if like me, some of you other MODOKies can't wait, you can go here- http://www.progressiveruin.com/2007_01_07_archive.html#8477509587967945013

to find out more about our friend with the monstrous cranium.

The "M" stands for "More Knowledge"
So great is my devotion and dedication to MODOK that I took his human name as my own. I added the "M" myself. the real MODOK would, of course, have known this.

Nice backpedal there FAUXDOK. "I provided deliberate misinformation to confuse and mislead the public." Sure. If the REAL MODOK had access to Marvel's computer system, he would destroy the S.H.I.E.L.D. loving fools from within for making a mockery of him.

Anonymous Marvel intern, I serve MODOK. I know MODOK. MODOK is a friend of mine. Anonymous Marvel intern, you're no MODOK.

The outcome was never in question.
MODOK is supreme

Wrong!
The "M" stands for "MURTHA"!

THAT WAS MY MOTHER'S MAIDEN NAME!!!

Do I need a subject?
MODOK if mocking is bad than you are truly most evil (2nd is Wayne of Wayne's World). Besides you SHOULD make modok avengers (if taskmaster can do it). with a 142 lobe advantage they shall easily win.

About this blog:
BLOGDOK is the psychotic ramblings of a Mental Organism Designed Only for Killing. Or is it merely a decoy for a far more sinister plot? I, MODOK, have over 2,459 wholly separate plans for world domination running simultaneously in my highly advanced 144-lobed brain, so not even I know for sure!

About the author:
I, MODOK, first appeared in Tales of Suspense #94, created by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby ("If This Be MODOK", Oct. '67) and I have been the butt of jokes about my giant head ever since. But now I shall have my revenge! IN BLOG FORM!!!
