Crazy day today…

We need to get Ultimate Fantastic Four #31 and Ultimate Spider-Man #97 to the printer today. Ult. Spidey’s real close to done—everything’s proofread and it’s nearly on it’s way out the door; Ult. FF’s got a little more to go…but no danger of it not making it…

Spoke with Mark Millar over email this morning, talking about a new artist possibility for a comic he’s written part of, and intends to finish after he wraps up Civil War and takes some time off. The artist might just be the perfect fit…

Then I got a spectacular cover in from Brandon Peterson, for Brando’s next project. Can’t say what the project is—let’s say it has the word “Ultimate” in the title and we might just be announcing it at Heroes Con—but this cover is really something to behold. I spoke to Brando on the phone, telling him how good it is and—truthfully—how much everybody that saw the printout is flipping out over it.

Meanwhile, ace designer Patrick McGrath is hard at work on the Daily Bugle: Civil War newspaper. This one’s a lot of fun. Set in-continuity, it’s basically a chunk from the newspaper the citizens of the Marvel Universe are reading, giving a public-eye-view of the events of Civil War.

On top of that, the newspaper has all-exclusive art by Mike Mayhew, plus articles written by great writers like Peter David, J. Michael Straczynski, Dan Slott, Justin Gray, Brian Reed, David Hine, Zeb Well, Mark Gugenheim, and a host of actual journalists, lending their skills to this special project.

That still leaves putting the finishing touches on Ultimate X-Men #72, checking out new Joe Mad pages, getting in another Arthur Suydam zombie cover, nailing down the last few touches on the first Ultimate Power cover, getting in Wonder Man inks (am I supposed to mention that?), completing the plans for the spectacular Ultimate X-Men #75 (check out Cup o’ Joe at Newsarama later on for a sneak peak at the cover (which is still going to have those costume-color changes you wanted, Robert)) and…well, and I’m gonna go eat some lunch.

Things can take care of themselves for a little while…
UXM 75
I though UXM 75 cover was that Cable image already released. If it's not, can't wait to see it!

Daily Bugle
Will the Daily Bugle: Civil War edition cost the same as the House of M paper did?

ultimate iron!
hey I don't know if you marvel guys even read our responses BUT I want to know what happened to ultimate iron man.he didn't even become iron man yet! and in the back of issue #5 says there coming back in "2006" and it's half way through the year and yet to see anything. my local comic book store said that UIM is done. so I want to know what's going on!

Dear, Cain Marko...
It seems Orson Scott Card doesn't know his continuity so he ignored Mark Millar's version of Ironman and created this blue skin body brain mess, calling it Ironman. The guy couldn't even bother to finish his story (Crap that it was.) so now we gotta wait until Mr.Card decides to comeback and finish his drivel of a story, that doesn't match up with the Tony Stark already established by Mr. Millar.

Ultimate Power?

what praytell is this? is it common knowledge?

dear revolver dark..
I thank you for the info but I thought the story of the ultimate iron man is a little cooler the than the original iron, simply because, it makes iron man more a super hero than just some smart guy in a suit. similar to batman. anyways mr. card doesn't want to come back or just doesn't care about this story? if so I don't know why because wizard magazine interviewed him and mr. card said he was excited about doing iron man.

p.s. does marvel have a fourm?

I love reality bites!
Whenever I imagine my mythical super hero tv series I have visions of what would be on TV in that world.. how WWII would go differently, History Channel Specials I tell you! I have dreams about superhero history channel specials!

Wouldn't that be awesome! Now that I think of it.. the ole X-men origins stories would make a keen "reality bite" style TV magazine expose.. eh? eh?
