JORDAN EXPLAINS X-MEN MESSIAH COMPLEX TO NATE
2008-03-05 15:24:53
COMICS.
They used to be about a lot of different things (war, romance, crime, ducks). Now the only ones that sell in bulk have whiny guys in tights whining about their whininess.
FOOTBALL.
It’s the best thing in the world. College is football in its purest form, but the NFL will do in a pinch. And it’s almost always better than reading comics.
ONE man (Jordan) tries to get ANOTHER man (Nate) to read a comic instead of watching football.
LET IT BEGIN!!!!!!!!!!!

NATE: Jordan.

JORDAN: Yes, sir?

NATE: I understand that something’s been going on with the X-Men lately.

JORDAN: Of course. There’s always something going on with those crazy X-Folks.

NATE: Huh. All right. Let’s do it. 100 words or less.

JORDAN: Mutantkind has been reduced to 198 mutants andBZZZZZZZZZZZZAPP!!!!!!!!

NATE: Jordan?

NATE: …

NATE: JORDAN!!!!!!

KATIE: Hey Nate!

NATE: Who’re you?

KATIE: It’s Katie Power, dumb-butt!

NATE: Uh…

KATIE: From Power Pack?

NATE: Uhhhhhhh…

KATIE: I’m the one that likes ponies.

NATE: OH! Katie!
Hey, chica! What’s goin’ on?

KATIE: Nothing! Just learning to tie my shoes.

NATE: And how’s that going for ya?

KATIE: I keep tying them together.

NATE: Cool, cool.
Oh, hey. What happened to Jordan?

KATIE: Oh. Um…he tripped.

NATE: Tripped?

KATIE: On a energy blast.

NATE: Ouch.
What’re you doing here?

KATIE: I’m here to do this thing.

NATE: What thing?

KATIE: Hang on, somebody wrote it down for me…
“I-AM-HERE-TO-SHAMMY…SHAAMMM…”
What’s this word?

NATE: “SHAMELESSLY.”

KATIE: “I-AM-HERE-TO-SHAMELESSLY-PLUG-POWER-PACK-DAY-ONE-WHICH-IS-A-NEW-BOOK-THAT-IS-COMING-OUT-IN-MARCH.”
Hey, why don’t all the months end in –uary, like all the days end in –day?

NATE: I don’t know, Katie.

KATIE: Marchuary.
Nah, I guess that doesn’t work.

NATE: Nah.

KATIE: So anyway, I wanna take over your bloog and—

NATE: Blog.

KATIE: I wanna take over your blog and do stuff.

NATE: What kinda stuff?

KATIE: I dunno. Interviewing people and talking about ponies and giving recipes (my mom gets lots of recipes on the innernet) and doing stuff with comics even though I don’t read ‘em and—

NATE: Katie!

KATIE: Huh?

NATE: You can take over my blog.

KATIE: YAAAAAYYYYYYYYYY!!!!!! Really?

NATE: Sure. I’m too busy with other stuff, and you knocked Jordan unconscious, so I owe ya one.

KATIE: Cool! Ok, I’ll start doin’ stuff! Do you have Jeff Loeb’s phone number?

NATE: He spells it J-E-P-H.

KATIE: How come?

NATE: Because he’s a superstar.

KATIE: Oh.
well... that was strange... but funny

funny and interesting. So how old will the Power Pack kids be? They have aged.

Katie Power
If Julie is 17 (according to the recent Loners mini) she would be 12.
However, since the Loners mini featured a Green Goblin that continuity would almost certainly be affected by BND meaning she's whatever age Mephisto says she is.

This is Katie from all the new Power Pack comics, the one featured in the picture there.
