AMAZING FANTASY FOOTBALL
2007-10-12 18:04:28

Awright, I'll be honest. I can't focus. I'm too jazzed up about Alabama playing Ole Miss this weekend. Looked at the game on the calendar earlier in the year, thought to myself, "Psh. Miss is gettin' whomped."

But hey! Stanford beat USC. Michigan lost to Appalachian State. MISSISSIPPI STATE BEAT AUBURRRRRRRN!!!!!!!!!! Anything could happen.

So! I'm making a list of Marvel characters who'd be good at football. We'll call it AMAZING FANTASY FOOTBALL.

HULK
Now...ok. You think Hulk, you figure he's gotta be running back, right? Just pummel through the defense, get the touchdown. I'm thinkin' different. Because Hulk's not a complex, goal-oriented guy. He likes to hit stuff. If you give him the ball, he'll probably smash it, then start beating the snot out of one of his teammates.

I'm thinking linebacker, in the Lawrence Taylor-style. Center snaps the ball, everything's going good, quarterback's reading his receivers' coverage, then a giant shadow comes over him and HULK SMASH BWAMMMMMM. Hulk's got 'im. Sack. Eight yard loss.

HULK: LINEBACKER
Other football characters
Quicksilver: Wide Receiver
Captain America: Quarterback
Iron Man: Fullback

"fantasy" football
I LOOOVE the idea of this blog, combining my 2 favorite things in the world. off the top of my head and can try and give you offense and defense...let me know what you think.

QB - Captain America for obvious strategical reasons...plus what an arm!!
RB - Juggernaut (Hulk with the ability to be goal oriented)
RB - Colausses, since every other team is splittin time now...
WR - Silver Sufer - Gotta pick fliers in this position
WR - Iron Man - His helmet would calculate where the he needs to be to catch the ball
WR - Human Torch - No explanantion necessary
TE - War Machine - Tough and can fly

Movin on to the D
Linebacker - Hulk - agree completely
Linebacker - Warchief
Linebacker - Cable
DB - Banshee
DB - Rogue
SS - Magneto
FS - Quicksilver, how better to intercept than be as fast as light

Just for fun here are 2 other positions ive got
Head Coach - Xavier, need i say more
Kicker - Morph, haha just for the fun of it!!

Juggernaut would be my RB. Tough, unstoppable, and if he's running behind Blob, completely dominant.

Professor X would show the Patriots how to REALLY cheat. Forget videotapes, he would simply call the other team's plays. And make them think it was their idea. Come to think of it, are we sure Bellicheck isn't a mutant?

don't forget
I think that Madrox would be interesting out there on special teams as a wedge buster. You better get ready to block a whole lot of him!

that would be kool

Hulk linebacker
I half agree with you. The hulk is better suited for D, but I think linebacker is a little to much for him. Gotta worry about dropping into coverage, and basically runnin the D... I'd throw him on the D line, and let him do what he does best... How'd you like the Hulk and the Blob, or maybe mommas Grimm blue eyed baby boy as your D. tackles.... toss in Colossus and Luke Cage, and we got ourselves a hell of a line... Oh and P.S. running back..Spidey..nuf said

BAMF
It doesn't matter who your QB is because he is gonna throw nothing but Int's with Nightcrawler playing safety.
