AMAZING FANTASY FOOTBALL part 2
2007-10-19 11:40:53
I'll get to the important stuff in a sec, but first...

COMICS I READ OVER THE WEEKEND [Editor's note: Last weekend actually. Nate's a posting machine and this got pushed back to Friday. Sorry, 'Cos.]

Read Will Eisner's The Best of the Spirit this weekend. Kids, read Will Eisner. ANYthing by Will Eisner. Man was a genius. "The Story of Gerhard Shnobble" is probably the best seven-page story ever. Brilliant.

Oh! And I read NEW AVENGERS...whatever issue number. The new one, with Wolverine on the cover (but not inside). That Leinil Yu...love that guy. Just a beautifully messy artist.

Now! Important stuff:

FOOTBAAAAAAAAAALLLLL!!!!!!!

LSU lost!!!! Mwahahahahahahhahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaaaaaaaa!!!!! Please, if you have LSU alum (and amazing colorist) Christina Strain's email, drop her a line. She's not feeling too well today.
(Mwah ha. Ha ha. HA!)

Ole Miss was this close to beating Alabama!! But the receiver for OM went out of bounds and came back in (that's against the rules). Sigh. You break my heart, Rebels.
Plus, Mississippi State was in the running against Tennessee until the last quarter. Proud of ya, boys.

Back to AMAZING FANTASY FOOTBALL. This is kinda fun. I might go deep on this. Maybe do the whole second string, then assign my villain squad as well. We'll see:

HAWKEYE
Thought about holding off on quarterback until the end, but nah. QB's not necessarily the most important position on the field (that's the left tackle). I know, I know...Cap's a great leader, awesome field general, throws the shield...but Hawkeye's on another level. Almost a mutant when it comes to eye-hand coordination. He can probably keep an eye on all 5 of his receivers and see someone about to tackle him from behind at the SAME TIME. He'd have no interceptions (unless the WRs bobble their catches) and see seams that no one else can.
Don't worry, I've got a place for Cap. But Clint Barton's my QB 1.

HAWKEYE: QUARTERBACK

Good Call
Cap is your Free saftey, with Tony Stark as your strong you cant go wrong... They also say Cappy has the best tactical mind in the world, so maybe offensive or defensive cordinator...

INT's
It really doesn't matter to much who your quarterback is with night crawler in the back field...

Best place for her?
I really want storm on my defensive but really don't know where i should put her. I meant i really don't want her to get hurt, but you can't do much on offense in hurricane force conditions. Maybe on the coaching staff?

About this blog:
By day, he’s a mild-mannered comic book editor! By night, he’s an obsessive sports fan! By early morning, he drinks coffee and then runs! He’s Nathan Cosby, and he has thoughts about things. This is them.

About the author:
When Associate Editor Nathan Cosby is not thinking about football, he edits Marvel’s All-Ages books, including the Marvel Adventures line (Spidey, FF, Avengers, Super Heroes), X-Men and Wolverine First Class, Franklin Richards, Mini Marvels, and Power Pack, works on the Marvel Illustrated and Stephen King books, does the Custom Comics, and runs Super Hero Squad. There’s like 20 other things he does, but he’s bored with typing this.
