Easy One to Answer
Mike Norton.
I know that he's DC exclusive right now, but when his contract is done, I would love to see him on ASM. Heck, I'd love to see that guy on any of the cornerstone Marvel books.

a comment
I really could care less as long as the current writing style is maintained. Its like an old throw back to the 70's 80's and 90's. I like my spidey upbeat and funny, doing more harm to the bad guys with his puns then his fists. I was so sick of the dark gloomy sad spidey of the JMS era. Would you guys make a handbook or something though that explains the revisionist history, like how harry is alive and how MJ is a superhero, things like that. Because its really kind of confusing right now. Thanks

Seeing as my all time favourite Spidey artist is already slated to do an arc (and really there's nobody who does Spidey better than JRJR) how about Dave McKean? Mike Mignola? Bill Sienkiewicz? Ron Frenz? Enrique Breccia? Alan Davis? Barry Windsor-Smith? Steve Yeowell? Michael Avon Oeming?
Hey, I can dream, can't I?
Failing that, maybe Fred Hembeck? That would be seriously awesome.

Writers:
Brendon Small! (Let's see some real TV talent come to comics)
Robert Rodriguez! (and real movie talent!)
Peter David (a classic)
Christopher Priest. (where is this genius?)
Bendis (I doubt there's anything I wouldn't want him on, but regardless, his Spidey's have been my all time favorites)
Zeb Wells
Frank Tieri
Matt Fraction
Evin Dorkin
maybe Millar again...
As you can see, I'm desperate for the funny.

You misunderstand...
It's not your heads we're calling for. You guys were forced into this by a tyrant of an EIC. It's his head we're calling for! Or at the least, his termination! With him gone, we can get back the REAL Spider-Man.

If I could have any three artists...
1)

The end of Brand New Day.
For the end maybe have Spidey have a mental relapse hearing that part of his soul crying and battle for his marriage back from Mephisto. Possibly tricking the devil or just beating him at his own game. MJ a skrull? NO!!! Anyway love the Brand New Day, find it refreshing and makes me laugh, thanks.
McNiven

Here's what a lot of you are forgetting...
I already threw my choices in the mix but some of the choices here are making my stomach crawl. BEFORE you choose, ask yourself, have some of these people drawn Spidey before?
Furthermore, while soooo many of these artists are great, the most important question is: Can this person draw Spidey?
He is the single most hardest character to draw and I'll tell you why: It's just soooo easy to get it wrong. It's all about the mask. With that said, soooooooooo many of these artists are not even worth mentioning. That's great if your choice can draw the best Hulk. This is NOT about Hulk. This is about Spider-Man.
Again:
Deodato
McNiven
Finch
Joe Mad
People like that.
Not: Jr Jr, Not Yu, Not Ron Frenz, nobody like that. These style's are wayyyyyyyyyyyyy to basic. (With the exception of Yu, I just don't like his style. Everyone has a block head and a square look.)
Posted by the darkone on 2008-03-04 11:47:35
WHY???
Who cares who they use. Marvel has already ruined Spider-man with BND, and gave the middle finger to the long time fans who have been buying Spider-man for years.
Hopefully enough people will stop buying this peice of trash.
And don't let marvel fool you. Sales might have started high, but the store I buy from can't even give away Spiderman. Over half the box holders have drop Spiderman in the last month.
Most saying they'll not buy Spiderman again.

I agree no JRJR. He seemed to change his style years ago and now everyone he draws seems like they're ginats made out of stone.

Great plots and stuff but... why must you ruin Spider-man, split up a marraige, and bring back dead people?

Suggestions
Why has nobody said Ron Garney? The War at Home and Back in Black rocked! I love Bagley's Spiderman, but bringing him to ASM would be to wierd. Lee Weeks would be cool, Deodato too. Maybe (only maybe) Mark Brooks. Mcniven again plz! Oliver Coipel. Marko Djurjevic with Danny Miki would be nice. Francis Manapul! Brandon Peterson! Definitively Jim Cheung. Michael Choi and Sonia Oback! Bring Shane Davis! Tom Raney! And who knows, maybe in a couple of years... ME!
PS Wieringo would have been great here!

Gale & Parker
As long as you don't let Gale write Spider-Man anymore, any artist should be OK. I thought OMD was a giant piece of crap, but I did enjoy the first story arc by Guggenheim. However, Gale has ruined my patience with his crappy story line. So, I'm to believe Peter Parker would take pictures of a funeral when the family asked him not to? And, then lie to his best friend's girlfriend about talking pictures of her dad? Sorry, but that sucks... You should of renamed Sensational to Amazing and let Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa take over.
