Taking a Leak
2008-06-12 10:42:51

Alright, folks, Wacker's out of the office today, so here's something between you and me:

Two days ago, The Spidey Braintrust had a conference call with new writers, Joe Kelly and Mark Waid. I listened in and while I couldn't get much from my vantage point, I picked up the following key words on the discussion of fall plans:

The Punisher
Harry Osborn and Liz Allen
Mysterio
The Spider-Tracer Killer revealed
Mayor
Dexter Bennett

What's it mean?!

Wait -- Wacker's out, but Brevoort just walked in -- he sees me...RUN!

--Brennan
YES YES YES!!!
"Harry Osborn and Liz Allen"

This I've been DYING to find out about!!! It better have some 'lil Normie action in there too!!!

THANK YOU!!!!!!!

Oh, and that pic is sweet too! :D

My favourite part of this announcement...
Joe Kelly and Mark Waid? For serious? :D

Posted by aurata on 2008-06-12 13:40:32
Interesting...
Does this mean that OMD/BND was Mysterio's doing all along?

Posted by Aziroth on 2008-06-12 15:12:04
The Spider-Tracer Killer revealed
I really enjoyed this subplot, but it was starting to wear out a bit. Nice to see it finally moving forward.

On a similar note, while I like most of the new villains (Menace hasn't convinced me yet), it's about time to give us some of the classic Spidey antagonists again. Venom, Green Goblin, Hammerhead, and now Punisher and Mysterio.

Nice.

Takeing A Leak
Who cares anyway? If BND Spyderman fell off a cliff and died, cause he forgot to load his webbing in his broken webshooters, it would only do the world a favor.

Posted by IGorean on 2008-06-13 10:45:47
Someone's buying it though
it makes top 20 every month. These teases are for them not those of us who aren't reading the title anymore. Why pee in
their Cheerios?

GET TO TEH CHOPPAH!

I am looking forward to seeing Mysterio. I have really enjoyed BND. I some what understand the problem that a lot of poeple have with it, but I think the sales of the book represents the true overall opinion of the book.

Looking forward to seeing Romita Jr working on the book too.

Wake me up when this BND crap is over
Hey Marvel! People are dropping this book like crazy because it is crap.

Get rid of OMD/BND and we'll start buying it again.

So, Punisher kill them all... interesting.

Posted by Redy1 on 2008-06-15 00:16:00
LOL
IGorean is STILL at it?!? My god man, with the same material even.....Just get over it already and let the ones that read Amazing Spider-man enjoy it.

This is the best time for us. Single fun loving wise cracking Spidey, rotating A class writers/artist teams, Venom, a new symbiote...(Peter as NY mayor as I'm led to believe) and Mysterio coming back. Marvel should've done BND sooner.

"Juan Louis Ortega"
May also be known as "Brandon Ramos" and connect to "Assumi".???

Posted by Celestial on 2008-06-16 19:52:16
So new characters....???
"Anonymous" could be a new character that "Lady Bullseye" may need to address.???

Posted by Celestial on 2008-06-16 20:04:34
Wish you'd give it up!
I just have to laugh at those sour grapes folks who are still complaining about BND! Either read another comic or get a life! I really love the new direction and the stories are comin' together with exciting stuff!! Oh and what's more: JRJR is comin' back!

Posted by iluvshelly1 on 2008-06-17 16:35:56
Well there is always..
"Branaco", "Poison Ivy" and "Harley Quinn"???

will not stop until it ends
Brand new day has killled Spider-Man. I have not bought a single comic since it was released. I however seem to not be alone:

2 Amazing Spider-Man 546 $3.99 Marvel 127,856
9 Amazing Spider-Man 547 $2.99 Marvel 101,132
10 Amazing Spider-Man 548 $2.99 Marvel 97,881
3 Amazing Spider-Man 549 $2.99 Marvel 101,048
9 Amazing Spider-Man 550 $2.99 Marvel 90,817
13 Amazing Spider-Man 551 $2.99 Marvel 88,029
4 Amazing Spider-Man 552 $2.99 Marvel 89,808
8 Amazing Spider-Man 553 $2.99 Marvel 82,624
14 Amazing Spider-Man 554 $2.99 Marvel 81,048
8 Amazing Spider-Man 555 $2.99 Marvel 86,885
14 Amazing Spider-Man 556 $2.99 Marvel 78,442
16 Amazing Spider-Man 557 $2.99 Marvel 77,041
20 Amazing Spider-Man 558 $2.99 Marvel 76,944
21 Amazing Spider-Man 559 $2.99 Marvel 74,184
23 Amazing Spider-Man 560 $2.99 Marvel 73,991

The first number is the overall rank of the book in sales.(on a monthly basis)
The ending number is the amount of units sold to comic book stores.
Does anyone notice a pattern?

I am sure "Joe Q. Clueless" has noticed and I am sure his bosses have noticed.

Is it possible for me to read this title and get a life simultaneously? Also. I think someone with a screen name of Hidden Vorlon might now be the most objective one to critique the post JMS run.

Harry and Liz.
Its cool that Harrys back, but it kind of ruins his awesome death.
One of my favorite events in spider-man was when Harry went crazy and tried to be with his family, they did it perfectly, and they probobly wont beable to do it very good again.
Harry was also the only charecter that was staying dead.
But what I bet is going to happen is Liz is going to come back, tell Harry she has his kid, Harrys current girlfriend is going to break up with him,
and then I dont know if the somthing close to the same thing is going to happen or if they'll come up with somthing else.
