I guess I meant to say "Do you try to remain objective when looking at characters", but since you pretty much answered my question anyway, it doesn't matter.
But I have noticed that Black Panther has been getting a push as of late. He is married off to one of the most prominant black characters in comics(which kinda upset Storm fans a bit) and seems well on his way to establishing himself as a major player in the Marvel Universe; alongside the Illuminati.
Moon Knight I've also seen getting a boost. I've even heard rumors of a TV show being planned for him. Not something that'll upset fans, but it seems a little odd.
As for neglected characters, I'd say that Angel is probably the most under-utilized. It's not like there isn't anything he can contribute; there is(his company and resources for example. Mutants will need economic equality as well as civil equality if the Dream is to succeed). It's just that his mutation isn't very combat suitable.
Another X-man thats gotten the shaft recently is Gambit. I won't complain about his moderately successful solo being cancelled half a decade ago, but I have noticed that he has become more and more marginalized since about the time Joe took over as EIC. Apart from being horribly butchered by Austin and Milligan, then kicked off into limbo with a major development just left hanging(with only a single issue appearance by Carey down the line to give Rogue closure), he was largely ignored in the Ultimate line, then killed off and his sacrifice basically ridiculed by Kirkman. Not to mention the movies...

you aren't using them enough
You aren't using Wolverine enough. (SNARK ALERT!)
Actually, I think you guys are doing a great job of pacing and using characters as they need to be used. I would complain that Iron Fist has suffered somewhat, but he has made a resurgence, and Power Man was someone who wasn't on the scene for a long time who is a central character these days. I think that characters like Cable, Gambit, Deadpool, Bishop and even Wolverine to an extent have been managed to be in roles which make more sense than they did in the extremes of the 90's. Wolverine's role reduction lately in the X-books makes a lot more sense than him being EVERYWHERE at once. I might even argue that Peter Parker needs to tone it back just a little bit! I am interested to see where the Omega Flight will take their heroes.

"And while you may not think this could have been done a different way, you weren't privy to the original script drafts, nor the various iterations we went through along the way to a final comic book in terms of making sure that this whole magilla did come across on the page. I'm glad you liked it, and it worked for you--means we did the job right"
In that case, thanks for working it out. I think the scene came across perfectly. Please continue working with Marc and Howard, there isn't nearly enough experimentation in comics these days.

Overpushed characters
For what it's worth, I think many of the New Avengers characters are getting overpushed: Iron Man's guest starring in half the books I read, Ms. Marvel, Luke Cage; Wolverine and Spider-Man, of course.
It's starting to get better, but we're coming off a couple years you couldn't find a classic Avenger getting more than a cameo or background appearance, if you were lucky.
