Friday Preview Art
2007-05-01 11:05:23
As is typical after an Editorial Retreat, I've got some catching up to do, so today I'll leave you with a smattering of preview art to tide you over until Monday.

More later.

Tom B
Fallen Son
Steve Rogers is barely in the coffin and Tony is already cloning him? Wonder if this is the same blond guy we saw in the vat in CW (#4 I think?). If so, its interesting that a clone of him would be started before Rogers is even gone. Hmm...

Fallen Son's Iron Man
Wow, JRJR's rendition of Iron Man is kinda bulky...

Posted by ricardolopez on 2007-04-27 20:09:17
yah Captain America is coming back.

Iron Man/Captain America
Oh, no...please let the clone Captain be short lived. No one needs to see him cloned and used as a puppet by Tony. Aww...

I see what you mean about the bulky Iron Man. He reminds me of the Space Marines in the Warhammer 40,000 tabletop game with his huge, rounded shoulder pads. Looks aggressive though. Except that I can't stand him. Oh well.

not a clone
That's the real deal. Cival war initiative one shot; Marvel tells Spider Woman that Captain America is alive on the raft. She could be lying but I don't think so; when Iron Man shows up he's pissed and tells Marvel "I didn't approve that". Approve what; letting SW go, doubt it...it's something else. Iron Man may try many things, but he would not clone Captain America.

SPIDERMAN FAIRY TALES
That's just why I like alternates universes, and visions of the past...

thank you Tom

Maybe a clone
The Initiative One-Shot led into NA, where it was shown that they were using a fake Cap as a trap for the New Avengers. Fallen Son:Denial attempted to prove to us that Cap is really dead. No-one believes it, but they're trying.
I quote the X-Axis review:
"The most fundamental problem, of course, is that nobody really believes that Captain America is dead. Marvel can insist that he's dead until they're blue in the face, but nobody will believe them. In 2012, if the Winter Soldier is firmly established as the new Captain America, and the Captain America movie has come and gone and Steve is still dead, then maybe people will start to say "Hey, he really isn't coming back." I'm actually more open-minded about this than most. I think there's, ooh, about a 5 to 10% chance of that happening. I'd actually like to see that story. But I certainly wouldn't put money on it."

My assumption is that Tony will turn to her and say "Shut it down."
On the grounds that it's a line that's *so* not worth crossing.
Tony, look at Clor. Look at what Clor did for the anti-reg cause. Is "Clap" really a good idea? The name alone speaks of Paste-Pot Pete style japery.

Avengers Assemble!
Hmmm, Thor's dead. Cap's dead. Hulk gone. Iron Man alienated and alone. The new Giant Man a symbol of the death of the old. Anyone left? Where's Loki? When will the AVENGERS ASSEMBLE!!

That page from "Mighty Avengers" is very cool! Mr. B, please bring us more Wonder Man!

S-H-R-A - Tell us what it means to you
Hi, Tom,
is there a way those fans who are confused about the SHRA ins and outs to get some answers? We'll pay for *that* one-shot.
For example, Cloud 9, teenager who can fly, drafted and forced to go into combat carrying a pulse rifle. A frikkin' pulse rifle! Julie Power, 20 year old who can fly, allowed to flit around LA trailing rainbows.
What makes one draftable and the other not?
We politely request answers.

Oh, and "Keep reading and all will be revealed" only counts if it's true

Posted by deworde on 2007-04-30 11:08:11
Thor is returning. We could have Winter Soldier Cap. Hulk's returning. Someone could nick Tony's armour. And Screw Giant Man, ANT-MAN!

There is always the possiblity that that isn't Steve, but some other poor fool getting injected with the serum extracted from Steve's Body.

Wait, wait, WAIT - CLINT BARTON, Marvel's residnet Blondie, is on Turner's cover to this issue! ZOMG!

New Avengers 31
I wonder if this is the famous 'last page of the year' that Marvel is talking about...someone finds out that Cap isn't dead.

AVENGERS THE INITIATIVE #3
