Marvel Karaoke Challenge!

This is the kind of nonsense we get up to when we should be making comic books.

Yesterday, for no discernable reason, Steve Wacker and Molly Lazer broke out in a loose duet medley of Barry Manilow tunes. Things quickly escalated, as with the line, "His name was Rogers, he was a soldier", Barry's 70s hit Copacabana was transformed into a chronicle of the life of Captain America. Molly went so far as to write lyrics for the entire tune on the train last night, and here they are:

His name was Zemo, he was a Nazi,
He had a fortress and a plane, and was pretty much insane,
Wore a pink stocking, atop his head
The heroes tried to stop his bomb,
Which then went off with great aplomb.
Bucky’s arm, in half it tore, Cap fell to the ocean floor
And wasn’t unfrozen ‘til nineteen sixty-four!

Chorus:

Oh, Steve Rogers, he is the Captain,
The comic book where it’s all happenin’!
Captain, Captain America!
Rogers and Bucky aren’t always so lucky
In Captain America...they went ka-boom…

His was the Captain, lost the civil war,
He was taken to the court, with a police escort,
Little knowing, he’s fought his last,
The Red Skull finally went too far
The fans were ready with the tar
From above a rifle blew, the Red Skull’s ego grew,
There was blood and another gun shot
But just who shot who?

Oh, Steve Rogers, he is the Captain,
The comic book where it’s all happenin’!
Captain, Captain America!
Punching and fighting, like thunder and light’ning,
In Captain America... Cap’s shot and killed…

Her name is Sharon, Agent Thirteen,
But that was a couple months ago, when for S.H.I.E.L.D. she would show,
Now she hears voices, sees Doctor Faustus,
She went and shot her friends,
And now her nightmare never ends.
She’s now the bad guys’ pawn, her will is almost gone.
She lost her love and she killed her Captain,
Now she’s lost her mind!

Oh, Steve Rogers, he is the Captain,
The comic book where it’s all happenin’!
Captain, Captain America!
She might be crazy, but she’s having his baby,
In Captain America... don’t fall in love

Don’t fall in love

If anybody'd like to take their karaoke machines and try to actually perform this paean to America's favorite dead hero, I'll see about posting the MP3 up here on the blog.

More later.

No torture plans yet
I still have some love for the world left and would not want to torture people with my singing.

I would love to see M.O.D.O.K. [Mobile Organism Designed Only for Karaoke] give it a go though. :-)

a big problem of TPB's and HARDCOVERS
the big problems od hardcovers and softvcovers, and any collected edition in general is the SPLASH PAGES!!!, you cannot see the center of the image very well, it's horrible.
Let's suposse you gotthe image of a face in the center of a splash page, then in a tpb or hardcover, you cannot open the pages in a 180 degrees and so you only see a face with the eyes very close one to each other. i mean a normal face is like:

0 0
--

but in a harcover or tpb, if you have a face like that in the middle of a splash page, then you will only see this:

00
-

a problem to consider in teh future don't you think??
