Mmmm

So, not only did Phil Jimenez come up ot the offices today with more AMAZING SPIDER-MAN pages to drop off, but he also brought milkshakes for everyone in my office. An awfully nice gesture from an awfully good artist.

Phil's always a pleasure to speak to, because of the thoughtfulness he brings to the work. He's always got insights that are well worth listening to. Today we chatted for a couple of minutes on the different perspectives of mainstream and "indy" creators, and how that almost institutionalized mindset more-or-less parallels the schism between commercial artists and fine artists in Art School.

So you see, I can be bought.

So that's how Jimenez got the Amazing gig, prying you with milkshakes, huh? I mean it couldn't have possibly been his kick-ass art, right? Y'know, Phil is a talented writer as well. When will we see him write anything at Marvel?
