ENTRY 2- LOTS OF IMPORTANT STUFF
2007-07-20 10:30:05
Happy Wednesday, everybody.

We here at the X-Office noticed that Tom Brevoort has been doing a lot of entries on his blog that are very informative. We wanted to show you that the X-Office is just as professional and busy.

So, potato chips, eh? Aren't they tasty? We took an office vote and decided that potato chips are the best snack food there is. Plain, sour cream and onion, ranch, BBQ, salt and vinegar... you can't go wrong.

SO MUCH BETTER THAN CHOCOLATE!

Anyway. I think there's a book of ours coming out today. :) Go pick up EXILES #82. It's the slam bang conclusion to WORLD TOUR! EXILES will never be the same!
DILL PICKLE POTATO CHIPS
ARE DISGUSTING. All pickles are. Ewww. Gross.

***this is the view of Nick Lowe, not the whole X-Office***

X3 What If's
What if the Phoenix was replaced by the Scarlet Witch and that Calisto person was replaced by Quicksilver?? Jean will come back in the movie but as good Phoenix. She will be sorta flirting with her cosmic powers and Scott would be the leader along with storm and beast.Wolverine will not get the screen time he usually gets and there will be more Iceman iceing up an ice sliding. Kitty and Rogue are still in it but Rogue does not take the cure and accepts her powers. No Collusus since he has no business being there. Save him and Angel for X4 so they could have bigger roles when the Dark Phoenix truly emerges.

Empty Calories
What the...? If this is what passes for meaningful content (1webfan excluded) I'll stick with Brevoort. Don't mean to be cranky, but c'mon! And please, folks, lose the DC adverts. The battle cry is "Make Mine Marvel!" not "Make Mine Marvel and...uh, DC too!" Nothing against the Boy Scout & the Flying Rodent. The characters just don't resonate with me.

Ultimate Xmen Artists
It seems to me that Ultimate Xmen doesn't have a concistant artist on kirkman's team. They had switched from Raney to Ben Oliver. Raney has his characters a little on the cartoony side(Ex. Sabretooth between issue 66-68) and Oliver makes everything and everyone well...just old or unappealing. What is your opinion on these two artistes and which one should be kept until Kirkman's run is done?

x men 4
I just watched x-men 3 , It was well written, however I had a few problems with it :

1. You guys continue to limit cyclops' role - just make him as skillful as he was in the old days. Also, you did not include nightcrawler (a fan favorite), havoc, or banshee. Psylocke had a very minor appearance. You already have established these characters abilities how about displaying them.

2. How about developing an X-men movie around the Brood (a very interesting twist if you capture the emotions of the X-men) then possibly tie in the Dark Phoenix (who was presented well in x-men 3, but present this movie as an action-packed mystery with a horrific twist.) or Proteus.

3. Magneto is brilliant, however maybe he shouldn't have such a prominent role if you develop another movie. Consider using the x-men characters in their most popular form (nightcrawler, cyclops, storm (pay Halle she was brilliant), colosus, iceman, rogue, wolverine, and thrown in a Psylocke or havoc

Gambit
Everyone seems to be overlooking the Cajun! Where was Gambit. All we got was a lame showing of his real name in X2!

nearly a waste of money...
I have been a fan of xmen since i can remember. But can you say sold out to holywood? X-3 was considered a great movie by some of my friends but as a loyal fan of xmen i feel like i got kicked in the face. Try putting somobedy in a scene without wolverine....its the xmen not wolverine...isnt he already getting his own movie? One of the most well known relationships was kitty pryde and colossus...did they even look at each other? I'm done ranting i just feel like fans of the series were let down, or am i the only one?

well...
At the end, it turned out that the cure was only temporary, so rogue could conceivably have her powers for a fourth movie.

My biggest disappointment was having Magneto and crew....again. You'd think that's all the X-Men ever fought.

A movie about the mutant registration act, featuring loads of CGI Sentinels would have worked better for me. Or Proteous. Or the guy that suggested the Brood is my new lover--I mean mentor. Because I don't like guys in that way...unless I'm in prison...which I'm not...anymore.

HIT THE SPOT
Mr rabbit's right i keep saying to my friends that x-men (movie) is not gonna suck they are going to keep the storyline not too off but MAN it seems that every movie just keeps getting more and more... well why complain, the movie IS entertaining but to the people that read the comics or saw x men on the tube each week has got to be angry or at least bummed that ceretain characters had the end they had, i personally would like to see APOCALYPSE just a glimps i mean its not that big of a deal, just at the end of the next movie, a faded face of apocalypse that you cant really see well cuz its all dark but you hear him say "THE TIME HAS COME FOR THESE MUTANTS TO..." well y'know do his thing but also where's gambit???, what happend to NIGHTCRAWLER who was a good addition to the group. ohh well I DO EXPECT X 4.

X3 grrrr....
To put it lightly I'd give it a "meh".
It was full of mistakes, such as:

Juggernaut is NOT a mutant. His powers come from the Ruby of Cyttorak.

Colossus is immune to Rogue's powers. So the little scene in the Danger Room wouldn't have happened.

Callisto of the movie is a conglamerate of three different mutants: Callaban, the mutant sencing ablity;Quicksilver or Northstar, the superspeed; and finally the inhanced sences, the only powers that the comics Callisto had.

Those are just a few.On top of that the fact that they threw a bunch of mutants in the movie, that are fairly important in the comics, only to have them used as cannon fodder.

And the worst of all,in my opinion, is once again NO GAMBIT!! Where the hell is he!?

But being the comic geek that I am, I did appreciate the other little things.

Colossus and Wolverine doing "The Fastball Special"
Beast saying "O my stars and garters"
And The Danger Room/Sentinal sequence.

4 the next X-Men movie...
Personally I think that Gambit & Psylocke should be in the next movie...I also think that Gambit & Psylocke should have a relationship. Instead of Gambit & Rogue. The movies shouldn't focus on Wolverine that much either. He isn't that great...
