Bishop is a lame plot character that is only used to keep readers reading because they want to see what the future holds and if it matches up to his predictions or memories.
I'm sorry but it's true.
I think that it is really sad that the current writer felt the need to bring in the future characters who have memories about how the team will evolve.
I also agree that the current team sucks.
Wolverine is good.
Storm is good.
Psylocke is bad; she was main part of the mainstream marvel team, but here she made a sacrifice to stop Xavier's rampaging son. She shouldn't have even come back. Not to mention that she's legally a minor now and willing to sacrifice other members of the team at the drop of a hat. Her moral compass isn't pointing north. How much you want to bet that she's sporting some martial arts skills before two story arcs go by. You might as well take the word Ultimate off the cover of the book.
Pyro is meh: Costume sucks, powers have potential, but man is the crispycritter look he's sporting ever so creepy.
Dazzler is okay: I like her look. I do like that they are willing to expand her powers, but it makes me think that they are going to merge her and Jubilee in terms of characters. (They both have the same powers). Sorry Jubi lovers, but it's true. Jubi was never a really strong character to begin with.
Angel is okay: Granted he needs more training and something more to give him that oomph that his character needs to be a true figure on the battle field. Maybe a sword, or something to really play off of his angelic appearance.
Bishop is bad and good. At least he doesn't have that stupid M on his face. I'm hoping for some sort of Back to the Future type of effect to happen to this guy where he just fades away. Like I said before, an over used plot device. He's good because the writers are using him to explore and expand some of the mutants abilities.
My fervent hope is that Cable sends Xavier back in time just soon enough to stop this aberant time line from occuring...Days of future past like.
sorry to burst your buble. but the new team is great. and that is why they kept Bishop in 616 universe cause mostly Everyone liked him i'm not trying to changed your opinion but im giving you the facts.
Psylocke is goood and always be good no matter what powers she have.
ok Pyro. is ok. that's it i dont like costume or that he doesnt have fueltank.
Dazzler needs a costume in fact Bishop needs a new costume. stick to the blue one Everyone and i mean Everyone loves the blue outfit. and Jubilees power deals with light and Plasma exploding. and Dazzler is Sound vibrations turned into light or laser.so Sound and Light 2 different things
i do agree about Angel. no doubt.
Storm and Wolverine are great not just Good. sure Storm can use a little improvement but the are great _________________ ()_()

Actually if you read #84 where Bishop is trying to teach Dazzler about her powers, he doesn't refer to sounds at all, but rather that she is splitting molecules of air to make light. I think you are right about Jubi and her power though.
I just don't like Bishop and I never have.
I do stick by my opinion that it is too early for Psylocke to join the team, maybe later in the series, like #120, but not now. Then again, maybe she'll be seriously hurt and give up.
The major point that I want to make is that Ultimate whatever is not just a retelling of the original story, but a reimagining, a fresh start with a blank slate. Why does Jean Grey have to be the Pheonix? Why can't the X-men clash against the Leader (Hulk bad guy)?
I just want the series to remain original and fresh and above all different than 616. Bishop and Cable are the turds in my brownie bowl. but these are just my opinions.

i agree with the reimagining thing. That's why i don't get what you're saying about Cable and Bishop. I think they're very different from their 616 counterparts. I love both of them in 616 and they're Ultimate selves have grown on me. At first i was like... man that wolverine thing is stupid. That mostly grew from my dislike for wolverine. Then I realized i actually really liked the idea. Yeah he's not the messiah like figure that he was in 616 but he's still very gritty and sticks to his guns. Two things i've always liked about cable. I like the whole master jedi thing that bishop is doing. I'm not sure what's with his powers though. They are different. Dazzlers powers are sound based. They've said this in earlier issues. That's why she's always singing while she ... ahem... dazzles.
I feel like I'm one of the few people who actually likes the new team. People keep saying that Angel isn't a good fighter and its inspired a theory in my mind. Bishop didn't want him on the team. Everyone else on the team has very very violent abilities. Does anyone else think that Bishop's motives might not be all that pure. He claims that all of these people will be legends in the future. He could be lying out of his &@*!. Cable claimed that he was trying to stop a terrible thing from happening. We know that Bishop said that he had linked together events that weren't actually linked together. Again, this could be a lie. We know that the Professor isn't as heroic as he'd like people to believe.
So if kirkman is smart he won't overlook stuff like this. So far though, Kirkman hasn't been wowing me.

I do agree that they are different, I'm saying that the plot device used to bring them into existence, time-travelling characters bent to prevent a future from happening, is a plot device that is well over done already.
I would have been really happy if they had brought in the young, born in this time period, Bishop.
In the end, I guess I would just like to see different characters than old favorites re hashed and redesigned. give me something original that doesn't include a major plot.
