Issue 2
From the top of the Sacred Mountain of Wakanda, Ultron watched the jungle underneath and the small village of the locals, who danced and sang around the fire in a propitiatory celebration for the Panther Goddess to guard them from their enemies and the evil spirits.
“Look, my son. Humans are a pathetic and ignorant form of life, weak and fragile. They kill each other in constant wars and fights for power over a planet they are rapidly destroying. I have been created to end this all; but some oppose me. The Avengers have fought me and defeated me with a pathetic artifice; they are weaker then we are; but they can pose a threat. For this I have created you, my son: you have to kill the Avengers. I have made you more similar to them: you can understand their feelings and their illogical reasons, so you can foresee their reactions. I have also endowed you with a vibranium skin: no weapon, no matter how powerful it is, can hurt you. I have created an army of warriors for you, that they assist you and facilitate your duty. Together, you and I will end human race. Now go, and accomplish your mission: I know you will not disappoint me.”
“As you wish. Goodbye, father”. The android took off, rapidly disappearing in the distance. Behind, three hundred robots followed.
“Goodbye, Vision.”

this happens in my own continuity, so I just decided he was dead and didn't bother about giving an explanation: it happened before the events of Avengers Assemble, because his death is what made Wanda and Pietro join the Avengers (chapter 3, the dialogue between wanda and clint). However, I'm seriously considering the idea to bring him back in future stories (not in this volume tough). I guess Mags could have (possibly apparently) died during a conflict with the X-Men (who will guest star in the mini following Avengers Assembled, that will be entitled X-ecutive power)

Issue 3
More than one month had passed since the fight at San Andreas, and nothing new had happened yet. Iron Man had investigated and he’d discovered that recently many advanced machines has mysteriously disappeared from factories all around the world. Captain America imposed a backbreaking training session every day; Pym had made a few theories about Ultron’s new incarnation, based on which new levels of the virtual trainer were developed: but in the mean time, they had no clue of where Ultron could be.
Cap and T’Challa were practicing hand to hand in the gym; Iron Man and War Machine watched them in a corner. Hank and Janet were in the lab, desperately searching a way to prevent an even more powerful Ultron III from following this yet to be revealed Ultron II. Thor was polishing his hammer in a nearby room.
Suddenly a thunderous explosion shook the Triskelion; from the skies dozens of robots came down firing lasers and machine guns on the SHIELD agents slaughtering them before they had a chance to regroup for defense: they had come out of nothing, invisible to radars, silent as death itself.
The Avengers in the gym ran outside; Thor immediately joined them, whirling his hammer.
“Come if you dare!” he yelled causing multiple lightning bolts to fall on the robots. Cap threw his shield that bounced from one enemy to the other, taking down eight. Clint and Wanda came out running from the area of the private headquarters, clearing the way from the droids to reach their teammates. The robots greeted them firing their machineguns; Wanda enveloped both of them in a scarlet sphere that sent the bullets out of target, making them hit other robots instead.
“Have I ever mentioned I love you?” yelled Clint to overtop the noise, realeasing one arrow after the other from behind his magical shield.
“No” she replied. “But it’s about the time you did!”
Iron Man was attacked by a group of larger and more heavily armed robots; he took off dodging their lasers, then he responded: he exploded one robot with a missile hidden in his right arm, then pushed a second robot against another one with the repulsor rays and pierced through both with the unibeam. War Machine joined him and took down the other two with his shoulder cannon.
“Good job, Rhodey” thanked him Tony.
“Others coming” he replied pointing at a dozen more approaching them from the right side.
“Ok, Rhodey. Let’s take care of these ambulant cans.”
Black Panther, in the mean time, was doing a great job with his knives. He had rejoined with Hawkeye and Scarlet Witch and protected them from the closest robots while the other two in turn covered him with arrows and hexes.
Suddenly, a green energy beam hit him from the back, making him fall to the ground as if dead. A green and golden robot with a surprisingly human face landed besides him.
“Ultron! You will burn to hell for this!” yelled Clint.
“You are wrong, Clint Barton. I am the son of Ultron. My name is Vision.”
“Son of Ultron!” called Thor. “Suffer the wrath of Thor, God of Thunder!” He flew straight towards the android, beginning a fight. War Machine and Iron Man tried to help him, but they were immediately surrounded by two more dozens of the bigger robots.
Cap regrouped the surviving Triskelion guards and led them towards the turrets, smashing trough the enemies with punches, kicks and destroying them with the shield, both from a short distance and throwing it; then he called Wasp, who was dodging bullets that ended hitting other droids. The two Avengers together freed War Machine of his opponents so he was free to fly to help Thor, who was losing to his vibranium-covered opponent.
That moment, the second wave of enemies came in.

Iron Man fell, overcome by the number of the attackers; Hawkeye was hit by a bullet trough the right shoulder. Once again, the soldiers were slaughtered. Vision fired a laser beam from his forehead, passing War Machine from side to side. Thor, weakened and injured many times, tried a desperate attack with all his forces, but Vision eluded his blows and grabbed his throat sending him a devastating zap; Thor fell to the ground, senseless. Vision turned towards Wanda, who was sending increasingly powerful hex-spheres blowing up or deactivating entire groups of robots as she tried to protect Hawkeye.
As Vision approached her, the nearby robots ceased fire, as tough out of respect for their leader. Scarlet saw Thor and War Machine, Iron Man and Black Panther, lying in the ground, wounded or maybe dead. She saw Clint, covered in blood, and the piles of corpses of the soldiers, and she panicked. She turned pale, and moved a step backwards, then another one and another one; Vision went on walking towards her. She fell on her knees, devoid of strength to fight back, awaiting her death.
“WANDA!” yelled Cap, struggling to break through the mass of surrounding enemies. “You have to deactivate it! Come on! You’ve already done it with other robots, you just have to do it again.”
She didn’t move.
“You must! You’re the only one who can do it… we’re all dead if you don’t even try!”
“Do it, love…” whispered Clint from the ground as he looked her in the eyes. “I know you can. Please… save yourself.”
Wanda tightened her fists and got up. She closed her eyes, concentrating on the thought of the android exploding, her friends up and well, Clint holding her in his strong arms… the energy flowed through her like a river breaking the dam, engulfed her all and flew at Vision hitting him with all the power of her love for Clint.
Vision didn’t even stumble. He raised his arm, ready to terminate her. His palm glowed with green energy for a moment, pressed against her forehead. Then the light disappeared. Vision lowered his arm, stepped back, and took off. All the droids on the island stopped and followed him, disappearing in the distance as suddenly as they had appeared.
Underneath them, illuminated by the twilight, lay the smoking ruins of the Triskelion.
