It's sure to be a Happy Halloween this October with MARVEL ZOMBIES 3, the third installment of the series fans have eaten up almost as ravenously as the book's flesh-gorging characters chew their live meals.
"This is a balls-to-the-wall, high-octane, action- and gore-packed, and – I hope – scary horror comic book," explains ZOMBIES 3 writer Fred Van Lente, who will be joined by artist Kev Walker. "At the same time, [it retains] that edge and humor that made what Robert [Kirkman] and Sean [Phillips] did so awesome and memorable."
According to Van Lente, the new series will intoduce a new government agency similar to S.H.I.E.L.D. known as Alternate Reality Monitoring and Operational Response (A.R.M.O.R.), formed by human forces to end the living dead epidemic on zombie turf.
Commence dining of raw human flesh.
"[MARVEL ZOMBIES 3] is an in-continuity series in which the shambling hordes of undead invade our own beloved Marvel U," the writer reveals, "[This requires] a desperate mission into the Zombieverse by an unlikely combo of heroes to save 616 from being overrun by the cannibal plague."
So which Marvel faces will we see decayed, strewn with maggots and accented by skull-protrusion this time around? What freshly zombie-fied characters will appear in the new series?
"We will definitely be seeing a lot of Marvel Zombies we haven't focused on before, both villains and heroes," Van Lente carefully reveals. "I choose to be coy about which ones. With horror, the more unknowns the better."
"However, I will say that in issue #1, we give the phrase, 'Merc with a Mouth' a whole new meaning," he adds, citing a "deep, evil laugh."
In addition to such sinister snippets of information, Van Lente explains the muse behind the latest addition to the House of Ideas' living dead lore, which began back in late 2005 with MARVEL ZOMBIES and unearthed itself again in fall 2007 with the sequel.
"MARVEL ZOMBIES 3 is to its predecessors what 'Aliens' is to the original 'Alien,'" he declares. "We're taking the same concepts, characters and continuity and doing something different with them."
Van Lente hopes that, much like Marvel's flesh-craving corpses, you bring your appetite.
"There's a kind of punk rock thrill to [seeing] these costumed bastions of justice and fair play eat each other's intestines," he says, "and love every minute of it."

Yes!!!! I was really hoping a 3rd one would make an appearance, I was worried when Marvel Apes was announced our favorite Zombies might be put on the back burn.
What we need to know now is how it will tie into the end of Marvel Zombies 2, I'm guessing something else has gone wrong and the hunger has returned since they got betrayed and left stranded, I wonder whats been going on in new Wakanda since then with dear Malcolm and Forge

What I'm hoping for is a second Dead Days to help fill in the 40 year gap between Zombies 1 and 2. I'm curious about why Malcolm killed T'Channa, Black Panthers son. I'm hoping we'll get that sometime in the future, but I'm still anxious about Zombies 3.

I am torn here, ripped apart by zombie teeth as it were.
Now, you can tell I love the Marvel Zombies, however I did NOT love MArvel Zombies 2, and I only liked Army of Darkness.
I am finding that the story is getting more watered down as it moves farther and farther from the Original story in Ultimate FF and Marvel Zombies first series.
I hope and seriously want it to be good, but I hope Marvel spends more time on the story and less on the variant covers. They are cool but one more lame story and the whle concept is pretty much dead meat.
There are many people who missed the gallows humor from Marvel zombies 1. I for one am one of them. More Gore, more funny, less dumb!
Bring it back or bury these characters and call it a title.

I'm kinda intrigued by this thought process, but don't really get it. I mean there are certain heros( Like Wolverine ) that can't get sick and heal back anything, so how did he catch the disease without his system curing him?
