Red Hulk Wages War With Thor To A Second Printing!

It's the comic book phenomenon that has everyone talking and that has sold out again! Marvel is pleased to announce that HULK #5, from the white-hot creative team of Eisner-winner, Emmy-nominated scribe Jeph Loeb (Ultimates 3, upcoming Ultimatum) and superstar artist Ed McGuinness, will return with HULK #5 SECOND PRINTING VARIANT! With a new cover featuring the powerful interior art of McGuinness, and a story that pits Red Hulk against the mighty Thor, no Marvel fan can afford to miss this shocking battle! And just what happened to green Hulk and A-Bomb?
"Five issues. Five sold out. And the second printings too!" said Loeb. "I'll have to tell McGuinness' kids to stop buying so many copies! Seriously though, I gotta thank Warren Simons and the entire Thor crew who were so helpful at getting the God of Thunder to guest star in this issue. And rest assured, Thor vs. Red Hulk -- the Grudge Match isn't far behind. All of this builds to next issue when Ol' Greenskin and the Rulk finally have it out -- and I can promise you, only one of them walks away!"
With the buzz around Hulk growing with each issue—leading to sell outs of all the series' printings—Marvel urges retailers to check their orders on HULK. Timothy Callahan of ComicBookResources.Com gushes, "This comic is pretty much all I ever need from a HULK series, and as long as each issue is this much fun, I'll be sticking around for a long time."
After this issue's stunning last page, just what lies ahead for Red Hulk? There's only one way to find out—read the smash hit HULK!

Basic decency should tell you that when you play with someone else's characters, treat them with the care and respect they deserve. So what does the indecent Loeb do? have his pet creation run roughshod over Thor, humiliating him and disrespecting the character to such an extent that it actually makes me angry. Not just any Thor either: the Odin Powered Thor that JMS spent a lot of time and care building back up.
I cannot believe that the editorial of Thor actually allowed Loeb to get away with his treatment of the character. Why on earth are these people employed? God willing, I hope you all lose your jobs and your families starve.
Marvel will never get a single penny from me again after this debacle. You bastards crossed the line this time. And if I see Loeb at a con, he'll be leaving with a black eye.

I think you went a little overboard with that post, buddy. I'm no fan of Loeb or Red Hulk, and I have said so previously, but that's taking it a bit far, don't you think?

No, he wasn't. Thor has made a huge comeback and has the power of Odin. So, for some idiot new (and horribly done) character like "Rulk" to utterly dominate OF Thor, is a disgrace to not only the ongoing Thor series but also to the fans of consistancy in their books. So Thor can defeat the Destroyer Armor, raise Asgard from thin air....but can't even make Rulk flinch? Give me a break. I honestly took half my Marvels off my pull list. First Brand New Day, now Thor isn't even treated as a God.

I think we DESERVE an answer as to why Marvel let this be published. We bought it, we scratched our heads and scowled, now it's time for an explanation.

I find it really annoying that not even an intern addresses our comments to these press releases while on Bendisboard you can have direct contact to tons of creators.

Once again Marvel has let an opportunity to make some sense of their pecking order of power slip carelessly through their fingers. Let me share my frustration. You have Thor, who has battled Surtur, Thanos, Galactus, The One Above All, The Celestials, The Midgard Serpent, The Dark Gods, and countless other immensely powerful beings. He has won many of those battles and has shown power and strength beyond compare. He has fought the Hulk several times without a clear victor being shown (why, I'll never know). Now endowed with the "OdinPower", you would think that Thor would be CLEARLY more powerful than Hulk, especially since he bested him in Pt. 5 of "The Reigning" even without his augmented might. But no...along comes this Red Hulk and you allow him to slap Thor around like a common scrub. You really have to be careful how you treat your foundational characters. A lot of your most loyal fans have been around for a long time and it's shameful how you often treat your most powerful hero. If Thor is not supposed to be as mighty or strong as the Hulk, then why isn't Hulk the one battling Galactus or Desak, or Kurse, or Arishem? Please help me understand.
