I highly doubt that Tony Stark is under the Iron Patriot suit. I have a feeling that its Rhodes. He's the soldier after all, he's more likely to be named a patriot rather than Stark. not that Stark isn't a patriot, it's just not his MO to be so. That or it could be Patriot from the Young Avengers wearing the suit as a testament to his lost friend Iron Lad. I don't think it's Bucky either, he's doing a good job as Cap. The only one who seems to be clearly implied in my mind is War Machine. Then again he has his own series coming up in December so I could be wrong. He just seems more likely than Stark, that's all I'm sayin.

All that being said, I think he's going to have a part to play in the Dark Avengers. Seems to fit pretty well in my mind.
Unless Captain America or Iron Man dies before the end of Secret Invasion, the Iron Patriot is going to seriously be stepping on some toes.
I hope this isn't a case of a new character being created for the cheap sale of a couple of comics.

Remember the What if..? Civil War where it had a couple stories...one where Ironman died...well that armor kinda reminds me of the suit he made for Cap that he wore there..

I like the idea of Rhodes being in the suit. No offense to any fans, but he just never struck me as a big solo character as War Machine. But I also agree with the sentiment that Iron Patriot could step on a few toes depending on where he pops up. Regardless, I love the idea!
There's no way Iron Patriot is War Machine. They're just about to start a War Machine solo series, why would they change the name of a title character right before he starts his own series? That would be suicide.
But this will for sure have something to do with Dark Reign.

I have a feeling that it is Tony Stark..maybe he realizes how wrong he was and to reconcile his guilt he dawns a new identity IRON PATRIOT! It could be wishful thinking though.. lol
