Youngs fun, but on the right book for his type of stuff. i screwed up on that top covers vote. i was half asleep and just picked some of the fist ones and didnt really think it through and vote for the classic and legendary ones. _________________ when hell is full, the Catman will walk the Earth.

Are you kidding me, Top 70 of all time and we're already seeing covers from the last 3 years that won't amount to anything within the next 2?
This poll was inherently flawed when certain stock Marvel images (Hawkeye with Antman on his arrow, covers from the first Ultimates run, nearly EVERY Steranko cover) have been copied, homaged, printed as posters, and turned into toys but didn't even make it onto the list for nominees.

After the way they whiffed on the 70 Best Comics, I didn't even bother with this.

Uncanny 142
In this issue, everybody dies. On the cover, the indestructible Wolverine is blown apart, Sentinel looming over. Set the stage for the dark future that would color so many future stories, and remains with us today.
A haunting cover for sure. Very memorable. That's my #1. No cover comes close to matching both the drama and the lasting resonance.

I took my voting pretty serious on this one...I had Captain America 25, X-Men 1 (1963), Giant Size X-Men, Avengers 4 (Cap joins the Avengers), Wolverine 1 (original mini-series.) All pretty well known covers but hey, they're classics.

Why can I see only five covers? Is there anything wrong with the website?

i can only see the first 5 too, this voting was bogus... many top covers were not present. greg land's beheaded sabretooth on the wolverine 55 variant which may not have made the list but should have been accessible for nomination to the ant-man/hawkeye cover of avengers which most definitely would have made the list. just chalk it up to another corporate marvel failure. you can be certain that EIC Joe Q will be well represented though, and no doubt by a meaningless/mediocre cover in the top 20
