darkseid has those omega beams, which can be used to send people to other dimensions and such, or just ersase them from exsistance. i think hes got it
Yes, Darkseid has his powerful omega beams, but this is Thanos we're talking about. He isn't your normal villain. He came so close to wiping out the marvel universe, I haven't heard of Darkseid almost achieving a feat like that in the DC universe.
Darkseid seeks the anti life equation.. if he gets that he's pretty much a super god to same effect as thanos having the gaunlet, accept that it becomes a part of you and it's not something you can lose or hav taken once you posses it. Yo uhave to give i up to lose it.
I think DC figures if darkseid ever got his "ultimate" wish there wouldn't be a way for him to lose it . darkseid loses because he underestimates his foe but never because he feels he isn't worthy. Dude killed his father sio he could be king.
it's funny how much of darkseid's bio is copied to thanos.
to me thanos whle he is cool..is a copy of darkseid. and thanos is written half way.. sometimeshe's good.. simetimes hie's evil sometimes he neutral..

Would be a very good fight. These guys are basicly the same except for the omega-beams. I think it would be a long battle and a very close battle. It is actually hard to say who would win but I am going to say Thanos for one he cannot die because death won't take him and two I like him better. Second reason isn't that great but it is basicly the only deciding factor in a battle that is so close.

Thanos.
Both are insanely powerful without either the Anti Life Equation or Infinity Gauntlet.
But Darksied has been punked a couple of times that injures his standing including being punked by SUPERMAN, who he shot with Omega Beams and Superman resisted the Omega beams, which means that they are not infallible.
Thanos on the other hand usually obtains that which he seeks. He has had ultimate power 3 times and only lost it twice because of his subconscious, not because he couldnt defend it, and the last time he had to sacrifice the power to save the universe because oooohhhhh Eternity couldnt even sense the danger the universe was in (it was that far above HIM) and the LT (who is the second most powerful being in the MU) couldnt do anything either.

I think first of all we need to figure out which character was created first - Did Marvel create Thanos first, or was Darksied created before him.
Second, what exactly are Thano's powers, other than the fact that he can't die. I know in the past he has conquered entire planets by literally killing/defeating nearly every inhabitant in combat. He's fought Thor on equal footing and the Surfer as well. He's tough, smart and powerful, while I see Darkseid shying from combat other than using his Omega beams.
I'd give it to Thanos. I think he's one class higher than Darksied.

Darksied is the original, Thanos was admittedly inspired by Darksied. An acknowledgement (of sorts) to this was made in the Marvel vs DC crossover when Darksied makes a comment to Thanos when he says "....you pale imitation of me...." there was a little truth to that.
In my opinion though while Thanos is an imitation of him, I would beg to differ on the "pale" part. Thanos has become MUCH more than that.

Darkseid is slightly older. His first appearance was in 'Superman's Pal Jimmy Olsen' #134 (November 1970) - (what a wussy title) while Thanos made his first appearance in Iron Man #55 in 1972.
I'm going to go with Thanos on this, only because he's a fighter, while Darkseid, who has always struck as someone who would rather have someone do his dirty work, would be rusty in physical combat.
Omega Beams or not - fight to Thanos.

Have you read Marvel vs. DC? 'Cause if u did, u would have known that there was a matchup between Thanos and Darkseid. And at the end of their battle, the 2 gods realize that they could take over the multiverse, which is what they do. But they fail due 'cause of Access and several other heroes. If you're going to put ideas, make sure they DON'T ALREADY EXCIST!!!
As for my opinion, Darkseid wouldn't be able to kill Thanos, but could KO him w/ an Omega Beam. I want to see Darkseid's face when he overloads Thanos w/ Omega Beams and finds out that Thanos still lives!
