jeffgear 5pts What a great issue. This was my very first Thor comic I purchased off the rack in the newly opened Fruth Pharmacy in Wellston, Ohio. Going by the cover date I was around 13 at the time and was just discovering the Marvel Universe. Up until then, I could only beg for a comic when we traveled an hour to Chillicothe and that comic was on my parents dime. I had scattered issues of Godzilla and Shogun Warriors up until Fruth opened. Jim Shooter always said to remember that every issue was someone's first issue. Looking at this first issue of Thor for me, I was thrown into a multi issue mess, but that beautiful two page spread told me all I needed to know. Keith Pollard was and is a master of his craft. He is very under rated, but IMO was a great draftsman. This Thor arc is probably my favorite after Simonson's run and the recent Aaron's run. Thor really lost some steam after issue 301, but at least we didn't have to wait long for issue 337.
