A great issue, but certainly one with an odd feeling attached to it. The FF pretty much interfere in an underwater civil war, to even out the odds after Lady Dorma pretty much committed treason (and got of with a slap on the wrist, because she did it out of love. Sorry, no sympathy here). They keep out of sight from Namor (since he wouldn't allow help, and would've hurt his pride by learning about their acts) and disable the traps Attuma set for him, so he can have a fair duel with his attacker. So...mostly this was a Namor-fight with a side-dish of FF. Maybe a stealth-pilot for the Sub-Mariners solo-stories later?

The FF were able to fight, because Reed invented a spray to breath underneath the air. And he waits, until they are several leagues underneath the see to tell them the incredibly short time-limit. Which somehow is tied to their age. Okay? I wonder, if they'll ever use this spray later, or if he finally gives one of his inventions to the public. I mean, small time limit or not, the possible applications are endless, and...ah, who am I kidding. One-Off invention, that probably explodes after one use, burning all the notes about it in the process.
