JackStamper member 5pts Well, after getting trained by all Cable in fighting techniques, Cyclops in his typical X-Men "be aware of threats and react quick without mistakes" und a couple of similar trainings...what was kinda missing in Hopes portfolio was quite simple: A reason. Remember: Cyclops didn't even want to tell her about the Phoenix! So when she heard about, she was unsure, what it is, and kinda wobbled onto the path "got to control it, that's my reason. Then came Spider-Man, and after a little struggle, what he could teach her...he says his slogan. And the message that gets through to hope: Why all this training, why this power? Because other people don't have this power. It's a responsibility, to use the power to help others. Before the Phoenix, she snuck out of Utopia to fight crime, because she was bored. With the Phoenix, she was trying to be the host, because this is what everyone expected her to do. Now she can learn: She only has to do things she thinks will help those, who can't do these things. She has powers, she can protect those, who don't have them. The Phoenix reacts to her, she has the best chances to control it. The Phoenix Four (now) is already starting to lose control.Great issue, I love it!
