The Story
For years the heroes of the Marvel Universe have lived in fear that the artificial intelligence known as Ultron would one day evolve to fulfill its desire to wipe out all organic life and take over the Earth -- that day has arrived. Is this 616? That Spiderman seems like Peter Parker when it should be Doc Ock. This New York Is utterly destroyed and even when they finally, inevitably defeat Ultron, there's no way everything could go back to normal exactly how it is in the current continuing run of comic books. unless this has yet another time travel solution.

@Who2342 having read the Spider-Man tie in issue that takes place after reading I believe issues 1-2 of AOU, you discover that it is in fact Doc Ock Superior Spider-Man and not Peter Parker....just thought I'd clear that up :)

First issue was not bad.. Dark and foreboding.. Really set the stage... Too bad this series was TERRIBLE. I wanted this to be good. Totally burned me from the comic book event for a while.

How exactly are they going to make this a movie. Spiderman can't be in the movie because he belongs to Sony and they are most likely going to stick with the standard Avengers team, this storyline is full of heroes who have not been introduced to the Hollywood scene. They should have stuck with Thanos.

@jds51500 They recently came out and stated that the Age of Ultron movie shares only a name with the comic books and that there would be no correlation between the comic and the movie.

I always love these kinds of alternate timeline stories they give the writers freedom to play around with our favorite characters and really make something great
