carrionpigeons member 5pts Running through the whole series, was pretty excited about this issue. The introduction of Venom is a pretty big deal, lore-wise. So I'll admit to being a bit disappointed that this storyline ended up being a one-issue wonder. Even the famous church bell scene turned out to have already happened in Spectacular, and never mentioned in ASM before now, so this all feels pretty anticlimactic. Not so much a criticism of the actual intro to Venom, but of the way stories are presented in this online format: there should be more storyline guidance going on. Issue 295, for example, had a piece of storyline that was neither the beginning nor the end, and made no reference to where to find the rest. When you go to a comic shop to pick up current issues, this isn't a big deal because all the bits are sold right next to each other. When you're sorting through everything from past issues, it's a lot more of a pain. The last page of this comic already offers links to several other "must-read" ASM comics; why can't that system be broadened to tie storylines together? Secret Wars II would be about 10 times more readable, for example, if we could get links on the last page of every issue in every related comic to every other one, and it would even inspire readers to get involved in other franchises. It's just good advertising.
