A great read. I love how the team members still get to know each other, for example Iron Man's awe about Cap being able to endure the force of his repulsor ('What a man!'). The Hulk is starting to go on my nerves though, and I don't like the Rick Jones character (neither his teen brigade), he's just completely out of place amongst the Avengers.

Compared to the other team members Wasp (and Ant-Man as well) seem a bit one-dimensional in this series, at this point at least. Let's see if that changes in the next issues.

#5 - 5/10/1964: ***; read 10/12/2014; "The  Invasion of the Lava Men!"; The Lava Men have a burning desire to conquer the world, and it's up to the Avengers to stop them! Guest-starring the Hulk!; weapon of the Lava Men: The Living Stone; the Avengers trick Hulk into destroying The Living Stone; reference to Jekyll and Hyde, Journey Into Mystery #97, "Thor vs. The Lava Man!"

Well...odd choice for an enemy, and that living rock basically did, whatever the plot demanded from it...but else enjoyable issue.

The artwork alone in this issue makes it one of the great comic masterpieces of all time.
