The Stranger is not that much stronger than Thor if he is even more powerful at all.He is obviously using his psionic abilities to trick our valiant ruler of Asgard.As far as throwing him,the enigma of the Stranger must have used the gravity well of Ego himself.He did say he created the living planet after all.
