The Story: (hide) Say hello to a pack of New York City gutterpunks, the likes of which the Marvel Universe has never seen! The X-Men’s dream has always been one of creating hope from despair - in a young mutant’s darkest hour Charles Xavier will always be just around the corner, ready with open arms and a helping hand. But Xavier can't be everywhere at once. What becomes of a group of young mutants that have to rely on themselves for everything from food to shelter to love? Wayward angels with dirty faces who, instead of preparing for Magneto's next big assault, must learn to survive in the cold, harsh world of the city that never sleeps. Marvel’s own Joe Quesada and superstar-in-waiting Josh Middleton bring the world of the X-Men to the streets, and the struggle for survival has never been more uncertain… 32 PGS./MARVEL PSR …$2.99

Five over five here.  This series showcases what makes Marvel so damn awesome; fresh characters with real feeling and real life.  Loved the artwork, loved how each issue made me want more, and the story is super original and fresh.  Discovered this right here on MDCU; Marvel fans don't let this one slip by!

So this series is basically about a bunch of kids first discovering their mutant powers, I came to read it for the first appearance of X-23 in issue 3.  The x-23 you see here feels a little different then the x-23 you see in Target X which chronologically follows shortly before this.  Not complaining about her in this series mind you just saying.  I would give this series a 4/5.
