Alright, Shroud in action. This should be a good issue.
So by now I'm guessing people are still guessing who Shroud is? I've been thinking of one character for a while and with it being the Ultimate Universe its possible...

What's your guess? I'm thinking it's Kitty, and would be pleased if it was. However if explained well enough I'd be willing to accept that it's anyone
This issue looks great so far! I love how Lafuente draws action. Everything seems to flow very fluidly, you can really follow it from frame to frame...

Indeed it is, I'm digging the art more and more with each panel.
Kitty? That never crossed my mind but who knows with what the preview says. For some reason I was thinking it was Reed Richards because fire arms don't seem to affect him plus the fact of how he says, "Idiots" a lot. Also in the first issue Shroud says he/she has lost everything. My guess there was Reed meaning he lost his dream job at the Baxter Building, Susan rejecting his marriage proposal in the Requiem story, the Fantastic Four splitting up plus he lives with his parents again who live in a normal home. So technically, Reed has almost lost everything.
Plus Reed has shown in previous UFF stories that he is capable of superhuman strength. On the other hand though I hear people say Reed appeared in UC Avengers already (I didn't pick it up) though the time period in that series right now is a couple months before Shroud appears.

I don't think Shroud says he/she has lost everything, he/she states that "You want to go to jail for this stupid ^&%*?? All the horror that's gone on in the world and this is the best you can think to do??"
I see where you are coming from though, and I think Reed is also a likely candidate. But the reason I saw Kitty is that Shroud has been shown to use all of Kitty's known powers, she has a reason to hider her face when she uses them (the whole mutant registration thing that Ultimatum sparked), and she has lost LOTS of people she knew (the X-Men) so she has reason to be a little PO'd at petty thugs for robbing a store "even after all that has happened".
Ok, so we got:
- Reed
- Kitty
Anyone else want to throw a name in the pot?

Yeah, I think I'm leaning toward Kitty right now. It would be nice of Bendis to use the "evolution" of Kitty hinted at in the Ultimate Fantastic Four/Ultimate X-Men annual, able to make her molecules super light and phase through objects or super heavy and smash through things.

Have to say my first thought was Kitty. I'm definitely thinking they're female at least.

I didn't know that (cause I didn't pick up that annual issue). Alright, now I'm sort of leaning towards Kitty too but I still have Reed in the back of my head.

If this is Reed, he really changed and i don't like it, but he is bulletproof, and he kinda talks down to people like they are "idiots"
if its Kitty, she got really tall and manly, so i doubt its her
it could just be a new character

Yeah in the annuals you see her 20 years in the future, and her powers have developed to the point that she can phase through objects or be strong enough to punch the Thing and make him go flying. Since these issues are cannon (despite some peoples' dislike of them) it would make sense if this present Kitty would already start developing these abilities...
Shroud seems to have shown the following abilities so far:
- Solid as a rock, when punched by a large thug in the face
- Able to hurtle a bottle at someone and cause them to fly backwards when hit by it
- Bullets seem to phase right through him/her
- When Spidey showed up Shroud seemed to simply vanish before Spidey could spot him/her
Kitty could produce all of these abilities with her mutation. The vanishing part could easily have just been her phasing through the ground or something.
Reed is also bulletproof, in that bullets bounce off of him. He could use his elasticity to make his punches more powerful, and getting hit in the face would hardly phase him at all. Disappearing, however, I'm not sure how he'd pull that off. Sue could do it, and potentially show Shrouds other powers as well.
Either way the character seems to not want to be seen by Spidey and we all know how close Kitty is/was with Peter. Maybe she wants to avoid being caught using her powers...
