my next 4 in order
Hawkeye the heart of the team and #4 avenger imho
Hank Pym the science of the team and a founding member
Wasp also a founder and avenger staple, but shes dead so my next pick is:
Scarlet Witch always controversial, plus one of the original 8

Busiek used the Big Three and these 4 during the JLA/Avengers cross-over.

Ms. Marvel has to deserve a place. She was their leader for a time, she has been in and out for over 30 years. She has stayed loyal to Stark and has proven herself time and time again during Dark reign able to defeat all the Dark Avengers with any power in one on one and has the tactical and strategic knowledge to work as a team (a very imporatnt factor for any would be Avenger).
Hank Pym as another Founder is a must (problem is he is the leader of another Avenger team at the moment).
I'd like to see two more girls so Black Widow (an Avenger) and
Spiderwoman.
If they keep to the six then Leave Hank with his Avengers and have the three guys and the three girls. Perfect balance capable of handling anything overt or covert.
