I think a trip to the old school would be great, and what better title to do it with than Secret Wars?If done properly, it would be a great game.
There should be hero and villain storylines, yes, but with a limited amount of characters involved compared to Ultimate Alliance and other big titles there should be room for at least 6 different characters for heroes and villains that have different storylines. There would be the option of playing only the main battles with any character in the series.
I would have: Doctor Doom, the enchantress, Thor, and Magneto for main characters. Spider-Man, Captain America, Ultron and Molecule Man could possibly do side missions. You could play as Galactus as a bonus.
Battleworld could have any environment and each different one would need to be cleared before moving on to the next. Inside a particular environment, however, the game would be free-roaming. There's lots of room to tinker with the missions and environments and alien civilizations because of how the planet was made.
I don't know how much Marvel will look into this with Civil War going on and all, but I believe it is a good idea and may be considered later. This comic series caused a lot of changes in the Marvel universe at the time and although not quite as world upending as Civil War, it does deserve a chance.
Any suggestions/changes you would make? Should there be LAN possibilities? Make yourself heard. _________________ "What say you?" - Aragorn, The Lord of the Rings

Does anyone not know what Secret Wars is? I am starting to feel left out in the cold here about this topic... _________________ "What say you?" - Aragorn, The Lord of the Rings

Secret Wars was a big crossover event about 30years ago. Its probably the silver ages eqiviliant to Civil War.
And there should absolutelty be a Secret Wars game! Bring it on!

If you do not know what SECRET WARS was like, check out #8 (Spidey with the black costume) in the digital comics section to get a taste of this extraordinary comic series.
P.S. (You may need to set the page size to one page and log in every time you go to the next page, as this is what I needed to do. It is annoying, but I know true Marvelites have the patience for this)

damn dude, don't make me feel that old, it was only 21 years ago, 1985 or so, still the best crossover to date.
I did form my Secret Wars team on Marvel Ultimate alliance from the toyline that came out, Captian America, Spider-man, Iron Man, and Wolverine.

No, more like awesome idea!
I had a ton of other stuff to say, but I forgot it. Oh well, it'll come back to me eventually.
