What exactly is the "Forever" tradition? To take characters from different points of continuity & use them in non-continuity stories? The Beast's look does not synch with that of Cyclops & Jean, and Archangel seems to come from another period, as well. Iceman with ice-hair probably doesn't match up with at least another charater's timeline as well.Louise Simonson is a great writer but with the amount of comics coming out each week & the inflated prices, I try to limit myself to "616" & high-end non-continuity (Ultimates; All-Star) books. Afraid I'm going to have to pass on this one.

No, no, no. Take half a second to read the text.Jean is not "back from the dead" (not in the current continuity, anyway). It is clearly stated it is not so, see: "in the FOREVER tradition".Okay, it was not so clear, but this means the writers go back to a point when they left the book and write it as if they had stayed working on it (and with a lot more editorial freedom). So this is the past, and then it starts to change.
