Every week, we'll tap one creator to browse Marvel Digital Comics Unlimited and pick their favorite issue they've worked on from the expansive catalog. This week, to celebrate the debut of a new Captain America, we've got two: current CAPTAIN AMERICA artist Steve Epting and Executive Editor Tom Brevoort.
"CAPTAIN AMERICA #7 is a very affecting done-in-one story showcasing the last days of Jack Monroe, the Bucky of the 1950s who later became Nomad, and who was killed by the Winter Soldier some issues earlier. It wasn't part of our original game plan, but when it turned out that we needed a self-contained story to buy Steve Epting some time, [writer] Ed [Brubaker]
really nailed it with this electrifying character study, and it became one of my favorite issues in the series."
"I'll have to go with [CAPTAIN AMERICA #25]. Ed did a fantastic job depicting the legend of Captain America and what he stands for, and showing us what we've lost when it's taken away."
