When a young boy named Kagenobu Yoshioka murders a foreigner to protect his mother, his life changes forever. Yoshioka trains in the martial arts and becomes a samurai, intent on serving his nation. With the goal of taking back his country from its corrupt leaders and the foreigners they cavort with, Yoshioka creates the Hand. Yet as the Hand's power and influence grow, Yoshioka's beliefs and goals become compromised when he agrees to train a young girl of mixed descent named Eliza Martinez. Their fates intertwine, and the Hand turns on its creator and his newfound lover. Although Yoshioka may be useless to them, nothing will stop the Hand from twisting Eliza for their own dark purposes, not even death!
