True Believers who dig all things Marvel and especially Marvel digital just got a huge heaping of awesome!

Marvel Digital Comics on iPhone
No less than four, that’s right, four applications for Apple’s iPhone and iPod Touch (iVerse, PanelFly, ScrollMotion and ComiXology) now feature individual classic Marvel comics for sale individually! As Marvel continues its expansive, cutting edge march into the future, the choice for the digital consumer keeps expanding as well—with more app stores on the way!

“Consumers in many locales have a choice of comic shops in which to buy their comics so we wanted to offer fans the same variety of digital storefronts to be able to purchase and consume Marvel comics,” explained Ira Rubenstein, Executive Vice President, Marvel Digital Media. “It’s all about giving the consumer the best experience possible and the widest possible choice.”

And that experience and choice extends WAY beyond the iPhone.

Marvel Digital Comics on Sony PSP
Marvel digital comics availability on the iPhone Apps system joins the recently announced venture offering individual classic Marvel comics for download on Sony’s PSP device and, of course, the pioneering Marvel Digital Comics Unlimited subscription service that launched nearly two years ago and features an ever-expanding selection of over 7,000 comics!

“As technology grows, the ways fans can consume our comics must expand as well,” Rubenstein said. “We’re very cognizant of that and will continue to explore avenues to offer the widest variety of fun ways for fans to read Marvel comics. Stay tuned for announcements coming soon regarding not only more iPhones apps, but ways to enjoy Marvel digital comics on other devices!”

Additionally, as Marvel pushes forward, the consumer experience on every platform will continually be reassessed and, if necessary, improved upon.

Marvel Digital Comics Reader 3.0

“We just released version 3.0 of our patent pending Digital Comics Reader for the Marvel Digital Comics Unlimited subscription service,” Rubenstein said, “And we’re actively filling in storyline and comic series numbering gaps to better the experience.”

So whether you want to make yours Marvel on the iPhone, the Sony PSP or to subscribe to the largest collection of Marvel comics ever assembled online via Marvel Digital Comics Unlimited—the choice is yours!

Of course, if you ask us, choosing them all isn’t such a bad thing!

When you buy comics on the iPhone, does it bill your credit card?

Same here, I wish Marvel Digital Comics will realize the success they can have by allowing package subscriptions on the iphone. Right now, I find the choice of comics on the iphone application to limited compare to the online choice. I would love to get the same service that you offer online on the iphone. I travel a lot and I find it so pleasant to read comics on the iphone. (Especially, on the iphone 4 with its very clear resolution screen). I don't want to subscribe on the online offer, because I already spent too much time front of the computer for my work.Thank you in advance for your consideration

I agree with tom_1994. I'd love to be able to access these in the UK. It's such a disappointment that we can't... :(

Marvel this is very exciting news!!! The only problem I have is that it's only on the iphone or the ipod touch. Everybody in the US does not have those two devices. There are other phones and media players on the market that can have this functionality. So, thank you marvel for forcing me to buy an iphone or ipod touch. Greatly, appreciated!!! I see that your company is apple based.

ok so correct me if I am wrong, but I will have to pay for comics on my iPhone even though I have the access to the Digital Comics online? Well that sucks.....Great idea for leading the way in this digital age, but I dont want to get charged twice for the same comics.

I would love to see availability of Digital Comics and Motion Comics on different platforms such as: Andriod, Palm WebOS, Nintendo DS (if that's even possible). The more options people have, the more it will be embraced.

I'm glad Marvel is expanding the way they are delivering their comics. The Digital Online Subscription service brought me back to reading comics again after a long "sabbatical". I see that we can purchase the comics on the iPhone app, but the subscription service is not available. I hope this will happen in the future.I don't mind being a year behind digitally as to what is being published "at the newsstand", but I do have an irritation to when recent comics are skipped and the series picks up a few issues later. Any series or issues after 2005 should be a priority to being uploaded and in order without any gaps. Older issues I can understand.Otherwise, keep up the good work. You've made me a "True Believer" once again.

I would like to see being able to use my existing membership with Marvel Digital Comics Unlimited on other devices such as the iPhone and PSP. Since I am already paying for the Marvel subscription it doesnt make sense to spend money on other digital forms of Marvel comics.Ultimately I am looking forward to reading the Marvel Digital Comics on the Apple Tablet for two reasons. One, I am running out of bookshelf space with all the trade paperbacks and two I am hoping that the price will be cheaper than print.I am sure the LCS's are worried over how to compete versus this new medium similar to how the mom and pop music stores are almost all gone.

Is there an 'On Time' option?Because I would like to start getting my Marvel Digital Comics on time.Something Marvel doesn't seem to be putting a lot of effort into.
