[quote@harlequin7 How many new characters have been created in the last 20? No, last 30 years that can support their own titles? I'm sure there are some but I cant think of them and I know they are very few and far between. This whole industry is based upon self reference so complaining about it is a little naive.
Cable. X-Man. Apocalypse. Deadpool (lol). Venom. Anything made after 1980 falls into your 30 year category. That's quite a few characters. The ones I picked are just the obvious ones.

I'll give her a chance. If I won't do that, I would not have become an Elektra fan at all. Now I'm a big X-23 fan too!

For me, having more Deadpools' always a great thing! And about female-versions... well, I'm the only one who like them? As harlequin7 says, to create a totally-new female carachter who can stands in the Marvel Universe by herself it's almost impossible. Female versions of well-known carachters are a good way to improve the number of superladies, who often have very nice and original storylines. Anyway, Lady Deadpool can probably really become only a nice pair of breasts to look at... we'll see. Still loving Deadpool anyway, and every single issue were he is showing off.P.S.: Liefeld's latest Deadpool's stories have nothing to do with his old "hell of anatomy" drawing... I think that he improved himself so much in these years, and his actual style is more enjoyable, even if it's still a little bit weird!

I grew up in the 90's and loved X-force, I still collect the old stories when I find them, but I can't stand Liefield anymore. Back then his art was poor but he fit in with the style of marvel back then. Now there are so many better artists out there and nothing Liefield has done in the past ten years has been of any value. Please Marvel don't hire him anymore.

crikey, way to jump the gun. Typical comic book fans, passing judgement before you have even read the book. It seems clear to me, from the solicits that Lady Deadpool is just one of a number of iterations of our deadpool. Why should there not be a female version of him in an alternate universe? Judging by the nature of Deadpool books and his characterisation it is entirely likely that lady deadpool is a self concious creation, designed to poke fun at the very thing you are all getting annoyed at. As said earlier, creating female characters from existing male ones is nothing new. Many, like She-Hulk and Ms Marvel have become great characters in their own right. Creating original and interesting female lead roles that star in their own book is all good and well, but which one of you would actually buy it? Not many, I'd wager. How many new characters have been created in the last 20? No, last 30 years that can support their own titles? I'm sure there are some but I cant think of them and I know they are very few and far between. This whole industry is based upon self reference so complaining about it is a little naive.

The first thing I thought when I read the headline was "oh, please...". I'm sure Lady Deadpool will only stick around as long as the other alternate reality deadpools, but the mere fact that they chose Lady Deadpool to publicize shows that Marvel isn't over their ridiculous trend of making female versions of their heroes.I have no problem with female heroes. If they want to create new, original ones for creative reasons, go for it. But when they just create a female version of an already perfectly fine male hero, it just sounds ridiculous. Be original with them, or don't do it.

Interesting. I don't mind Liefeld's art...I have always liked his rendition of Deadpool.

[quote@ZachGT What is Marvel's obsession with making female versions of their characters? First X-23, and Lady Bullseye, now a Red Hulk chick and a Lady Deadpool!? One word, LAME!
Your forgetting, this started in the 80's. Marvel wanted more female solo titles(I dont think they had any at the time) So they launched some. And most of them were female versions of existing male characters. She-Hulk, Ms. Marvel, and Spider Woman are prime examples. The only one they launched then that was orginal was Dazzler. All of those titles failed FYI.

it's just dimension hopping fun times. i doubt lady deadpool will be any bigger than deadpool the kid, or the other alternate dimensions they travel to. i like the idea of this issue, the idea of deadpool just jumping through realities and time is awesome. plus we'll get a variety of art.

I know for real its like they have run out of ideas for new charactiors and are now just recycling them. I think we dont need new charactiors or at least not like this.

At least it's not Deadpool actually transforming INTO a female.Ahem. Ultimate Vision, Fem-Loki, that female Captain America.. O_O WHy!? Like, at least with the female versions of characters kind of make sense, like the Young Avengers' Hawkeye. But common. >_> Lady Deadpool? Do we REALLY need a Lady Deadpool?! If there's one character that doesn't need a female counterpart it's Deadpool. She better have a messed up face is all I can say. T_T If she's not, she's just a pair of breasts to look at.
