Captain America has, since this most recent series began, been at its most consistent best in AGES... I kind of dropped off the internet scene, and I didn't have any idea that Steve was dying - it was amazing. Bringing Bucky back, once thought completely taboo, was also amazing. The art's been solid too... everything about this book has been clicking, and I've loved it. I was even ok with Brubaker leaving my favorite Marvel book (Daredevil), so long as he kept up with Cap...but I just got Reborn #1 a few days ago in my monthly shipment, and it was just awful. I was scared when they started giving the clues a few months prior that Steve wasn't dead... I kept hoping it wouldn't happen... but now it looks like it will, and the whole thing was just dumb. Between this and issue 601, I've found myself kind of hoping that they forget to ship my issues of Cap next month so that I can get geared back up to like it again.I'm still hoping Ed will turn this around into something cool... but... ugh. Brutal so far.

Ok with Cap Reborn being somewhat ok, i have to say this... WHO THE HELL WAS IT THAT THOR WAS SPEAKING TO WHEN HE YELLED "AVENGERS ASSEMBLE!!" I believe this was about 3 or 4 issues back. Reason why i'm asking is because this entire story of Red Skulls Time Machine being the machinism that's holding Cap is honestly a bit silly. I'm going to continue following this Reborn story line but i have to be honest and say i'm a bit disappointed. Not only in it being he's "In and Out" of time? More like Limbo it should really be stated, but whatever, i would just like for Marvel to put an issue out on who it was Thor was talking to, it seemed to be it was the spirit of Cap but if he's in and out of time, then that wouldn't be him right? RIGGGGHHHHTTTT. So i guess its safe to say J. M. Strazynski didn't get the memo.....

Seriously why can't they just keep someone dead??????Captain America's death was I think the most symbolic death written in comic book history in my opinion and now its all being completely wiped down the drain because their sales were down with the bucky line so they decided hey lets be lame and bring him back. NO STOP IT!!! LEAVE HIM DEAD!!! I mean try and stick to something please. His death was I think a great marker as almost the end of the old days. You know the registration was my last marvel event that I actually enjoyed. It tore a gap in the comic readers and really gave you something to think about and discuss. The perfect way to end the registration and unite the marvel universe. Honestly even if they do bring him back I'm still going to consider Captain America dead. RIP :cap:

[quote@dirtybirdee I agree. I absolutely hate it when they bring a character back to life once they're dead. Predictable. Boring. Lame. Stupid. And I also really hate the idea of Bucky taking Cap's place. They should have just made a new character or had Captain America tryouts (opposers will argue that Bucky would have won the tryouts). Just because someone wears someone else's uniform, that doesn't mean that they have the same capabilities as the original person. I think it would be great if Bucky got overconfident in his new role and got killed.[/quote] Ummm...i agree that they shouldn't bring Rogers back, at least not yet, but as for Bucky being the new Cap, I dont think anyone could have done it better. I mean, Rogers symbolized America as it should be and was there to inspire people to be better, but Bucky is there to show America how it is now. He stands for seeing things for what they are, and then making them better. This is his redemption for his terrible past, and he will be the first to say that he isnt as good as Rogers was, but he is there to bring hope to an America that is on the brink of destroying all it ever stood for. He is just a normal guy, but he does whatever he can to fight for what he believes in, and that is really what being an American is all about. This Captain America is here to show this country how to really fight for their freedom.

Replacing Cap (again) was a questionable idea in the first place. I liked the idea of Bucky taking his place. If anyone deserved that honor, it was Bucky. As if the reboot of Spider-man with Brand New Day (Infinite Crisis, Crisis on Infinite Earths, and the like), Norman being a Public Hero (Lex Luthor as President) wasn't bad enough, now we are subject to Steve Rogers lame resurrection (a la Superman, Hal Jordan, Oliver Queen, etc ...), after Marvel's Powers than Be swore that Steve Rogers death would not just be a stunt. Then they do this. I haven't read Spider-man since the stupid Clone Saga, now it looks as if Cap is off the list. I quit reading DC years ago for pretty much this same reason. I really wish comic writers would stop doing lame stuff like this and the Powers That Be would actually stick by they promises.

i heard things about 1602, haven't read reborn yet, aftet seeing thor speak to his "shade", I thought I'd accept the death and bucky. But now they want to "jean grey" cap, they shoulda just stole him from heroes reborn world after the onslaught battle when CE bucky was transported to 616 or the negative zone prison. so we have Bucky as Cap, Rohaz from 1602, CE Bucky, and the heroes reborn/CE cap.........what will marvel do to make those dollars? who knows........i know throw some wolverine in that book before the 3rd issue, lol!!!!!!!!!! I'm just gonna make my own characters and comic universe/ megaverse/ reality cuz keeping up with marvel obituaries is hard enough, especially when it takes a year to return from the dead........until BootlegComics is launched in 2012, make mine marvel.

Honestly this idea could've been epic but the way Ed Brubaker handled his return is nothing short of a gimmick and the fact that a 17 year old like myself had a better more plausible idea for his return is pathetic really. The time thing is really a cliche Idea that I can't even believe they used, if anyone knows a way to contact Mr. Brubaker let me in as I think he needs to know what a let down this series will be...

 Well my faith in Marvel is renewed -- they are absolutely messing up a good thing -- Every single time -- What a cheap way to bring Steve back -- Steve is still a character without any real depth -- We only need one Scrawny - Nerdy kid next door and that's Spider-Man -- Steve's origin has always been a very uninteresting one - I enjoy the Patriot the Icon and the Symbolism of Cap - Steve should have been someone whom had already seen the rigors of War and was then incapable of fighting -- much better premise -- motivation. Steve was virtually without training and without a clue as to how to be a soldier -- and who the Heck would have followed him? -- Absolutely Noone! -- Might has well run into battle blindfolded with a Popsicle stick -- Steve would never have had a chance. Captain America has been cancelled so many times -- Why? -- Because Steve is a shallow uninspiring character -- Its CAP that keeps the stories alive -- So get with it Marvel -- That's why Bucky was embraced so much -- he had lived through the trials and tribulations and was struggling to be the Symbol -- Where the Heck is Steve's struggle?? Honestly who really gives a Rip about Steve as a character? LONG LIVE CAP -- but keep STEVE ROGERS in the GRAVE!!!

Bucky is great i was just starting to like him. I have no idea where they are going with this story. It sucks so far....god maybe he should go to the DC universe and grab batman from the caveman era!P.S Please kill the sentry(worst character in the marvel universe)

I really don't like this idea. I'm pretty sure their biggest reason for bringing Steve Rogers back is because of his movie so in other words its about money not story, fans, or any other good reason. Personally I wish he would stay dead at least for a few years like five. I mean come on how long has it been two years not to mention all the money they made with all the spinoffs and extras. Besides there already is a Captain America and I like that it was passed on to somebody else. Bucky is a great Cap he is a non-superpowered human which makes him a lot easier to identify with, he feels the hit just like anybody else, hes more hardcore, and he uses guns like a real soldier. We don't need Steve anymore yes he was the best but someone else has taken up his mantle and he is more than qualified. Whats going to happen to Bucky Cap when Steve comes back cuz you can have two Captain Americas?
