UNCANNY
X-MEN #101

UNCANNY X-MEN #101 Here it is: the first appearance of Jean Grey as the Phoenix! After crash landing back on Earth following a battle with Steven Lang's Sentinels in outer space, Jean erupts from the water as the Phoenix. Quickly exhausted and rushed to a hospital, Jean can't understand her new condition, but as all X-Fans know, this humble beginning begets possibly the greatest saga in all of X-History. Read up folks, it all starts here.

UNCANNY
X-MEN #137

UNCANNY X-MEN #137 As Dark Phoenix, Jean Grey destroyed a star that killed over 5 billion of that galaxy's inhabitants and Now the Shi'Ar have come for revenge. It's Xavier's X-Men vs Lilandra's Imperial Guard in an all-out brawl like you've never seen with Jean's life resting in the balance! If the X-Men win, she's saved but if they lose...well let's just hope they don't lose. Warning: the ending of this issue will leave you speechless.

X-FACTOR #1
(1986)

X-FACTOR #1 (1986) Like the phoenix she's named for, Jean Grey makes her triumphant return to the Marvel Universe! Cyclops, now married to Madelyne Pryor, has to deal with the fact that the woman he truly loves has apparently risen from the dead. Sure it's a lot for one guy to handle, but what better way to deal with your problems than form a super team with your best friends? In the wake of anti-mutant hysteria, Jean, Cyclops, Angel, Beast and Iceman found X-Factor, but one question persists: has the Phoenix truly been destroyed?

X-MEN: PHOENIX
ENDSONG #1

X-MEN: PHOENIX ENDSONG #1 In a risky gambit, the Shi'Ar have woken the Phoenix Force prematurely, a move they believe could lead to its ultimate destruction. However, without Jean Grey as its host, the Phoenix has woken hungry; really hungry. You never want to see a Phoenix Force with the munchies unless you've got a desire to see the universe become a charnel house. The X-Men will have to act quick and not pull any punches if they want to make it out of this scrape alive!

X-MEN: PHOENIX
WARSONG #1

X-MEN PHOENIX WARSONG #1 Wouldn't you know it: the Phoenix has risen once more, but this time it's a whole new ball game. Now the primeval force of life and death has taken a new host...or rather three new hosts. Why has the Phoenix come back? Where'ss Jean Grey? What does the Phoenix want with the Stepford Cuckoos and will any of the X-Men prove strong enough to stop them? Not a subscriber to Marvel Digital Comics Unlimited yet? Join now! :psylocke: So dissappointed with Uncanny Xmen 511 just when I thought I would subscribe.Warsong was complete disaster as most of these stories nowadays. up until the 90s (well after the 90s), the writing and stories just seems to be retread ideas that don't quite measure up to the original story tellers. I almost wish the people that make up these stories that I used to love would read about their powers and histories instead of just throwing the characters togther.

If this was one of the single most greatest characters/storylines, why change the formula? Why recount the storyline and demean the character by making her some kind of unstable mental patient? So Not Cool!Old-School will always be the Best School...Stop messing with the classics!!!
