Remy LeBeau Holding Court at Mardi Gras
NEW ORLEANS—Miffed Marvel Winter Games officials searching for boxes of missing gold, silver and bronze medals need only peek a petite bit south for answers, we guaranteeeee!

As beads and trinkets rained down on Who Dat? nation from passing parade floats and the balconies of Bourbon Street this Mardi Gras 2010, some of the items being tossed had significantly more heft to them and appeared to be glowing strangely with a mystic energy.

“Man, I took one right to the face…chipped a tooth,” said Bobo (no last name given), a particularly bruised Bourbon Street beads gatherer who proudly displayed an authentic Marvel Winter Games silver medal.

When asked if he deserved it, Bobo rubbed his chipped tooth, took a long, clearly unnecessary swig from his cocktail and said, “I’ve been training in these Mardi Gras crowds for years. I should’ve gotten the gold!”

Gold was not far away, either. Just fighting one’s way under a particular balcony offered the opportunity of catching a gold medal as well as the occasional bronze, too.

“Bienvenue mes chères!” called out the X-Men’s Remy LeBeau, the baron of this particular balcony during his own personal medals ceremony.

Asked why he was tossing out stolen Winter Games medals, LeBeau answered, “Allegedly stolen, mon ami! Allegedly stolen. Hey, we won that big football game just 10 days ago, so it’s a very special Mardi Gras this year! Who dat?! Who dat?! Laissez les bons temps rouler!”

While the good times are indeed rolling in New Orleans, in Vancouver, Marvel Winter Games officials were seen huddling with Magneto, the master of magnetism, presumably in talks to forge new medals to replace the missing ones. Allegedly missing ones, that is.
