AVENGERS PRIME: SIEGE AFTERMATH #1
WRITER: Brian Michael Bendis
ARTIST: Alan Davis

THE STORY:
They were friends, brothers and teammates through all of Marvel's greatest adventures, but recent events turned them into the bitterest of enemies. In the wake of the Siege of Asgard Thor, Iron Man and Steve Rogers are brought together on the same side once more, but it's going to take more than a handshake and a smile to get these great heroes to truly trust each other again. This all-new, grand and dangerous adventure will catapult our heroes into the explosive Heroic Age and will unite comics legend Alan Davis with Avengers scribe Brian Bendis for the very first time.

This five-issue limited series ships bi-monthly beginning in June

[quote@taylorcurtis [quote@bds197485 Can two Captain America's exist in the Avengers world? Like one serves in the New Avengers book, and the other in Avengers Prime?
Avengers Prime will be a mini so probably not.
Sorry, I don't read the headlines like I should. I'm just quick to reply to the entry. Thanks for the response. You woke me up from my slumber. I'll pay more attention next time.

[quote@BlackSamurai [quote@bds197485 What happened to Sam Wilson, The Falcon? After Secret Invasion, he just disappeared like Echo and ultimately Wonder Man.
Sam is backing up Bucky in Captain America and Wonder Man is still doing time after the events of the DR Lethal Legion mini.
Yeah poor Wonder Man I think if Iron Man gets back in charge of S.H.I.E.L.D He will release all the Good guys including Wonder Man.

I like this. Iron Man, Cap and Thor all leading a team of various Avengers, and they're begrudged at each other. This is gonna be good team moral for the Avengers.

Yeah, the bitter enemies thing is only Iron Man/Cap (re: Civil War) and Iron Man/Thor (re: cloning him, a god, and having said clone slay a friend... and Civil War by proxy) and I figure the solicits were (as said) pumping the drama vs. spelling out that Cap and Thor have to bury the hatchet with Tony instead of in him, especially if he came out of his recent trials a changed (for the better) man.

Wow, are you seriously complaining about continuity in comics? I mean, I know we all do it from time to time, but that is why it is just so sad. I will agree that Secret Invasion was not my favorite series (though that might have been the art more so then the comics themselves) but so what? I am glad Marvel is doing these events. Gives you something to look forward to and has created some great stories. But yes, characters die and are brought back to life. Origins change when they think it will be fun, these things happen and have happened for years. If you want to complain about them messing with continuity then do it about the Ultimate Universe, as that was suppose to be the one where retcon' is a thing of the past, I do not think they ever made such a boast with the reg marvel u.

[quote@agent13 Who made Bendis the GOD of Avengers?
Well, I think there is something I concern about more than Bendis. All marvel comics went to hell. Look X-Men & all X titles, All Avengers titles(but mighty). I think it's bigger than a lot of things. I remember Civil War, we were so exited but at the end we disapointed. SI was just a empt, it made up cause bring us to DA. The whole stupidiest ideas directing by JQ I think. Ok, I really like House of M & DA books, but at the end, we re seeing Marvel makes just huge things forr sensation. But inside, there is all empty things. Nothing changes forever... Look X titles they bring almost all dead X characters from nowhere. But look stories, they all empty. I think Joe Q era must be end. BEndis is good writer for me, but his emotional sensational ideas bring bad eventually. I really hope & wait Bendis, Fraction eras going to complete very soon. But first, JQ must leave.

The only thing that could make this series better would be appearances by Pym & Banner.

Alan Davis drawing my three favourite avengers: AWESOME.I was hoping that the Avengers would be streamlined into a single book after Siege, but being the cashcow it has become, I guess it was too much to ask.

[quote@AHBARNUM Looks like Steve is done as Captain America, I'm fine with that as long as he doesn't dissapear from comics. And what turned Steve and Thor into enemies? I know why they'd hate Iron Man but not why they'd hate each other.
I don't think they (Steve & Thor) are enemies. It seems like the "bitterest of enemies" thing was just used to be dramatic.

Good thing they're addressing this. Evidently, Avengers Prime would've been a nice title for one of the books instead of us continuing on a relaunch of the New Avengers title.
