This week we're shining the spotlight on Iron Man's partner in crime, the invincible War Machine! Get to know the man behind the armor, and watch as time and time again James Rhodes proves he's one of the toughest heroes out there.

IRON MAN #144
Deep within the jungles of Vietnam, Tony Stark pilots his very first suit of Iron Man armor. After defeating the dastardly despot Wang-Chu, the mechanical man wanders aimlessly through the dense vegetation, hoping to find a way home. With his internal batteries feeding their last bit of power into his injured heart, Tony stumbles upon James Rhodes and his gunned-down helicopter. After a quick power boost from the chopper's batteries, the two men  team-up to escape the deep wilderness. But do a newly-armored future Avenger and an ace flyboy have any chance of  escaping from the 'Nam alive?

CREW #1
Jim Rhodes, former pilot of the War Machine armor and one-time C.E.O. of Stark International, just declared bankruptcy. To make matters worse, somewhere in Little Mogadishu, one of the most dangerous neighborhoods in Brooklyn, his younger sister just turned up dead, thrown from a window onto the streets below. Now it's up to Rhodey to find his sister's killers and bring them to justice, without the help of the Brooklyn PD or a million dollar suit of military hardware. It's the beginning of a new chapter in the former War Machine's life, and he's through pulling his punches!

SENTINEL SQUAD O*N*E #1
The Sentinel Squad O*N*E stands as the last bastion between super-powered threats and the American people. When Earth's mightiest heroes can't answer the call for help, these hulking mechanical monsters will use all their technological might to put down any meta-human menace! But the U.S. government needs the best of the best piloting these expensive pieces of machinery, and if the Sentinel Squad ever hopes to amount to anything they need James Rhodes , a man who's spent nearly as much time in a metal suit as ol' Shellhead himself. If he can teach these rookies what he knows, they might turn the Sentinel Squad into a force to be reckoned with.

AVENGERS: THE INITIATIVE #2
What starts as any normal day in the Initiative turns into anything but when the lethal legions of Hydra attack the President's Prairie Chapel Ranch. While the Texas-based Rangers scramble to secure the Commander-in-Chief and First Lady, War Machine leads the new Initiative members in an assault of the airborne Terror Carrier. It's the Initiative and some of Marvel's mightiest flyers vs Hydra, with the President's life hanging in the balance. Do Cloud 9 and the rest of the recruits have what it takes?

WAR MACHINE #2 (2008)
Doctor Glenda Sandoval sits broken and confused in a boxcar at the mercy of Eaglestar International's hired guns. She's the wife of Parnell Jacobs, who just so happens to work with the one and only James Rhodes, the man behind the devastating War Machine armor, and Glenda's position displeases the two men. But before the missile-laden Rhodey can rescue the damsel in distress, he'll need to blast his way through fighter jet drones, a panzer division, and some seriously heavy artillery. Will the new armor hold up to the onslaught, or will War Machine find himself reduced to rubble?

Robert Downey Jr. reprises his role as billionaire industrialist Tony Stark, aka the super hero Iron Man in this sequel to the 2008 blockbuster. RDJ, Paltrow, Cheadle and Rockwell are joined by Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury, Scarlett Johansson as Black Widow and Mickey Rourke as Whiplash. Jon Favreau once again takes up the directorial reins for Marvel's armored avenger.

"Iron Man 2" is one of a continuing slate of films being produced by Marvel Studios based on the Marvel characters, including "Thor" on May 6, 2011, "The First Avenger: Captain America" on July 22, 2011 and "Marvel Studios' The Avengers" on May 4, 2012.
