NAMORA fought beside NAMOR during WORLD WAR 2[ AGENTS OF ATLAS#6(8/09)page 6 ].

NAMORA had CAUCASIAN SKIN( plus ANKLE WINGS ) when NAMOR was 14 YEARS OLD( page 2 panel 2 )[THE ORDER#6(9/02) www.comics.org/issue/97957 ]and NAMORA had CAUCASIAN SKIN when NAMOR was 15 YEARS OLD[SUB-MARINER#54(10/72) www.comics.org/issue/25560 ]which REPRINTED SUB-MARINER COMICS#39(4/55) www.comics.org/issue/12009 ]--"THE SUB-MARINER GETS A LESSON IN HUMILITY FROM NAMORA!". The only BOOK I have that has NAMORA with BLUE SKIN was SUB-MARINER#50(6/72)[ www.comics.org/issue/25205 ]while NAMORA was in her TRANSPARENT COFFIN( page 9 panel 1 ),but she was given her CAUCASIAN SKIN COLOUR in SUB-MARINER#51(7/72)[ www.comics.org/issue/25289 ]page 7 panels 3 to 4. SO IGNORE THE Saga Of The Sub-Mariner#2(12/88)[ www.comics.org/issue/45385 ].

Unfortunately I can no longer see the images on this site[ monomythic.wordpress.com/2009/04/20/marv... ],but in a Jimmy Jupiter[ www.reocities.com/jjnevins/jupiter.html ]story he meets characters that look like the WIZARD OF OZ characters( unfortunately Kevin Garcia doesn't say what issue it is in ). THESE characters are POTENTIAL GOLDEN AGE HEROES: the LION could be a TIMELY COMICS version of AFRIKAA[ www.marvunapp.com/Appendix2/afrikaamuk.h... ];the TIN MAN could be turned into a RUSSIAN COUNTERPART to DC COMICS G.I. ROBOT or ROBOT MAN;( I didn't see the SCARECROW but if he is there ) the SCARECROW could be the modern SCARECROW[ www.marvunapp.com/Appendix/strawman.htm ] and he could also be these SCARECROWS[ www.atlastales.com/sI/4724 ] & [ www.atlastales.com/sI/3875 ]---World Of Suspense#2(6/56) & Strange Tales #81(2/61). As for "DORATHY GALE"---if she has RUBY SHOES they COULD BE MAGICAL and GIVE HER the ability to TELEPORT( think MODERN MARVEL character LILA CHENEY ).

Possible ORIGIN for the MODERN FIN[ www.comics.org/issue/87639/cover/4/?styl... ]Silver Sable# 16(9/93)----he could be STRANGLER BURNS[ www.marvunapp.com/Appendix4/blacktalonca... ] MUTATED by the ELECTRIC CHAIR( which could have also REGREW his missing hand---STRANGLER BURNS being the LUKE CAGE of WW 2---WRONG ACCUSED ) or he could be one of PROFESSOR DORN's PSEUDO-SUB-MARINERS[ Marvel Mystery Comics# 23(9/41)Sub-Mariner story]--reprinted in Marvel Mystery Comics#1[ www.comics.org/issue/265893/#432719 ]---he could have kept MUTATING.

ISBISA[ www.marvunapp.com/Appendix/isbisaaws.htm ] is a SUB-MARINER villain too, so why not reveal that he was behind these 2 events[ Sub-Mariner # 25(5/70)U.S. Army Gas Canisters ][SuB-Mariner # 67(11/73)Nerve-Gas ]---both left on the borders of ATLANTIS. SEE in Vision & SCARLET WITCH #2(12/82)page 14 panel 2(ISBISA says,"The twisted desire of a madman seeking revenge on 2 members of the disbanded All-WINNERS SQUAD!---he was given credit for the 1949 'Nuclear Project' "accident" seen in Giant-Size Avengers # 1(8/74). SO WHY NOT GIVE HIM CREDIT for CREATING SOLUTION X-R[ Young Men#24(12/53)Human Torch & Toro story ] and POSING AS COMMUNIST AGENT when he gave it to the CRIME SYNDICATE( ISBISA could also have SOLD TORO to the NORTH KOREANS for a LARGE SUM OF MONEY---Like BUCKY,TORO was also BRAINWASHED BY COMMUNISTS ). Plus ISBISA could be linked to the criminals who SHOT THE SECOND BUCKY( Fred Davis )[Captain America Comics#66(5/47)Captain America & Golden Girl )] and if there is a story where the PATRIOT( as CAPTAIN AMERICA ) was exposed to some Chemical or Gas or Ray that could have caused his CANCER then ISBISA could be linked to this too.

If I was writing this in BACK-UP STORY I would have fun teaming NAMOR up with TIMELY HEROES taking the place of MARVEL HEROES in Modern MARVEL SUPER GROUPS---for example the ORIGINAL DEFENDERS: NAMOR,GARY GAUNT( Golden Age Bruce Banner/Hulk )[ www.internationalhero.co.uk/g/garygaunt.... ][Marvel Adventures Super Heroes#21(5/10)has an Alternate Earth version that was said to be half as strong as the HULK or a little more than half( since the HULK has exceeded CLASS 100 on more than one occasion that still puts his strength level at either 100 tons or CLASS 100 );they also made him bulkier like I suggested elsewhere:I used SOLOMON GRUNDY[ Justice League Of America #4(1/07)& 6(4/07)by Ed Benes ] and MR.FIXIT/HULK[Incredible Hulk#347(9/88)]as examples.],DAKOR THE MAGICIAN[ Mystic Comics # 1(3/40 )] or MONAKO[Daring Mystery Comics#1(1/40),MANTOR[Human Torch Comics#2(fall/40)],PRINCE OF GOOD[ monomythic.wordpress.com/2009/08/10/marv... ] as DOCTOR STRANGE's replacement. If I want I know where to find a SILVER SURFER counterpart in TIMELY COMICS( he's there, just not a character yet:one colour and bald ).Plus I could do a CAPTAIN AMERICA and FALCON[ www.internationalhero.co.uk/f/flaconga.h... ] team-up or the RENEGADES[Incredible Hulk#107( 2007 )],ILLUMINATI[New Avengers#7(2005 )],CHAMPIONS[Champions#1(10/75)],FANTASTIC FOUR[Fantastic Four#1(11/61)]and AVENGERS[Avengers#1(9/63)] using just TIMELY COMICS CHARACTERS[ www.internationalhero.co.uk/t/timelycomi... ].

It would be nice if in a FLASHBACK that it was revealed that CAPTAIN AMERICA contacted NAMOR or TRITON to RESCUE JACK FROST[ www.internationalhero.co.uk/j/jackfrost.... ] from the ICE-WORM[ Captain America #384(4/91)]because he could have some kind of connection to the WHITE MONSTER( Complete Comics#2(win/44)Young Allies )[ www.atlastales.com/sI/730 ]and they could be connected to or be in THE ICE-MONSTER COMETH![ www.atlastales.com/sI/1367 ] or THE ICE-CREATURES COMETH![ www.atlastales.com/sI/1402 ] or KING OF THE GLACIER MEN[ www.atlastales.com/sI/1405 ]as apposed to JACK FROST being a dwarf FROST GIANT.

I'm also hoping that MARVEL will give BACK-UP TIMELY COMICS & ATLAS COMICS ERA STORIES with TIMELY COMICS & ATLAS COMICS ERA CHARACTERS ONLY. TIMELY COMICS created great Villains that NAMOR could face: KAI-MAK[ www.marvunapp.com/Appendix/kaimak.html ][ www.atlastales.com/supersize.zdz?t=s&j=1... ],SHARK-MAN( Golden Age Tiger Shark )[Kid Komics #4(spr/44)Sub-Mariner story],FISH BROTHERS[ Marvel Mystery Comics #39(1/43)Angel story],RATHIA[Human Torch Comics #5 b(fall/41)Human Torch/Sub-Mariner story ],DAKA & LONU-NE & his SEAL-People[Marvel Mystery Comics #24(10/41)Sub-Mariner story---DAKA is NAMOR's uncle and he should have been U-MAN ],OGAR OF THE OCEAN[Sub-Mariner Comics #14(sum/44)Sub-Mariner---OGAR could have taken ATTUMA's place ],SUB-EARTH MAN/VOLCAN[ www.internationalhero.co.uk/s/subearthma... ],FIRE-GOD[All-Winners Comics #11(win/43-44)Captain America Story],FIRE MONSTERS[Marvel Mystery Comics # 14-15(12-1/40-41 )Human Torch story],PLUTO/KRO[ marvel.com/universe/Kro ],METAL MEN[ www.marvunapp.com/Appendix5/metalmenmoon... ],MAD MECHANIC[ www.marvunapp.com/Appendix4/madmechanicy... ],HEAD[ www.marvunapp.com/Appendix4/headygall.ht... ],OLDOW( Golden Age Hulk )[ www.marvunapp.com/Appendix5/oldow_ga.htm ],PRINCE SHINTO & Baby Battalion( Japanese Baron Strucker & Blitzkrieg Squad )[ www.marvunapp.com/Appendix4/princeshinto... ],GREEN TERROR & Gang( Hydra Prototype )[ www.marvunapp.com/Appendix4/greenterror3... ],MODEBL[ www.marvunapp.com/Appendix4/modebledemon... ]and that BEHEMOTH[ www.marvunapp.com/Appendix/behemothatlan... ]like SEA MONSTER[ www.atlastales.com/sI/3948 ]from SUN GIRL #1(8/48)"The Menace Of The Monster".

Since VAMPIRES are involved I'm hoping that NAMOR's old TIMELY COMICS vampire foe THE BAT( Mona Welles )[ Marvel Mystery Comics # 74( 7/46 )"Sting Of The Bat" www.comics.org/issue/5201/#55014 ]makes an appearance. I too hope NAMOR gets all his TIMELY COMICS( Super Hearing,Mimic Sea Animals( Sponge & Bubble Fish ) & 1960s POWERS( Mimic Electric Eel ) and more importantly either his ORIGINAL BLACK COSTUME or the COSTUME HE IS WEARING AS A MEMBER of the X-Men so that he looks like a TRUE SUB-MARINER and a PRINCE OF THE BLOOD instead of his TARZAN on the Sea look( green scaly swim trunks ). Plus bring back the non-clone NAMORITA and reveal that she is the daughter of NAMORA( Agents Of Atlas ) and the FIN. If MARVEL can have all those WOLVERINE CLONES( Daken,Native,X-23 & White Ghost ) and GHOST RIDER CLONES( Blazing Skull,Ghost Rider of WW 1,Vengeance,Ghost Rider( Daniel Ketch ),Ghost Rider( Noble Kale ) and Death-Flame[ www.marvunapp.com/deathflm.htm ] ) then MARVEL can have NAMOR,NAMORA & NAMORITA.

i for one am happy namor finally has his own title again. i wish the character well. here is a character that marvel never really seemed to be invested in/never seemed truly committed to nor did they ever seemed to know just what to do with. i think it goes back to bill everett being his creator and stan lee having nothing to do with namor's creation. although lee did re-invent many aspects of the character after his ff#4 re-introduction. if they want to make the character seem/appear cooler they probably should stick with the black costume.

Ongoing? I'm guessing the series will last 6 issues. 12 if its lucky.

the x-men are marvel's over all most popular group of characters. vampires are very popular with a certain demographic right now. i think this is a great way to launch namor into his own title. also recall that namor was asked to join the brotherhood of evil mutants and fought the original x-men way back in the mid-60's.

johnrunion
johnrunion

i hope they finally give him a power up grade and give him ALL the powers that he has had in the past back currently. in the golden age he could release water from his pores and put out the flames of the original human torch. since his marvel re-introduction he has had the abilities of all of the sea creatures, he has had the ability to command/control marine life, no longer gets weaker the longer he is out of the water and marvel has taken all of those up grades away. he goes toe to toe with the hulk, nearly kills iron man, is able to withstand a bomb blast, able to withstand a blast from thor's hammer and yet he has trouble with wolverine??? wolverine can lift what a 1,000 pounds? namor is class 100 at times.

johnrunion
johnrunion

namor is considered marvel's first mutant due to the fact that he was the first mutant character published by marvel. this title goes back to john byrne's namor series of the 90's...even though in the letters section of his first marvel series he was considered to be a hybrid, not a mutant...but i think that is just splitting hairs. hybrids result in mutations transpiring.

FINALLY!!!! I'm sure I'll quibble about any number of things later when the issue comes out, but I'm just so ecstatic that Marvel is finally giving Namor his own book, where he can do more than shout "Imperius Rex" as he has in the X-men books. He's the first Marvel superhero and anti-hero and such a great character -- he deserves his own storyline in his own book. Can't wait to see the Jae Lee cover! If only he would do the interiors!

If I may be a continuity stickler for a moment: Namor was the first character published that is now categorized as a mutant but at the time wasn't described as such. And if we're speaking about the chronological history of the Marvel U, there were many mutants (ie: Apocalypse, Wolverine, Romulus, Mr. Sinister) who pre-date Namor. So although I understand "the first mutant" sub-title is meant to tie him into his current X-Men connection, it's not very accurate. I agree with dagib, I would rather see Namor doing more Avenger-esque stuff than defending the X-Men.

Not sure how i feel about this great to have a namor Ongoing but to have him officially labled a Mutant and his series all bout mutants im not sure namors always been more on the avengers side of the MU for me if i want mutants id read X men lets not turn Namor into just another generic mutant for the X-Rosters
