SECRET WARS #1
James Rhodes knows what it takes to be a soldier and a hero, but can the Vietnam vet pilot the Iron Man armor in Tony Stark's stead alongside Earth's Mightiest Heroes?  He better hope so, or he might be spending the rest of his days a million miles from Earth on the Beyonder's world! There, the Avengers and others become locked in combat with the dregs of the evil underworld: Doctor Doom, Doctor Octopus, the Wrecking Crew and more; they're all looking for a shot to win the Beyonder's prize.  Will the good guys triumph over their foes? Will Rhodey prove himself as the new Iron Man? Read to find out!

AVENGERS #19 (1998)
Simon Williams, the incomparable Wonder Man, has recently returned from the dead and his best buddy The Beast wants to celebrate with a night on the town. The bounding blue-furred mutant flew in from Scotland specifically for the occasion, so the two Avengers head out to the Horn O' Plenty to enjoy some much needed rest and relaxation. Unfortunately the heart-to-heart gets cut short when a villain calling himself Pagan tears up Times Square. Can Wonder Man still cut it as an Avenger?  Can The Beast hold his own alongside the Earth's Mightiest Heroes? Those answers and more!

MOON KNIGHT #8 (2006)
As Civil War ravages the United States, heroes clash amongst themselves to decide the future of all costumed vigilantes. But some crime fighters refuse to choose sides, preferring to ply their violent trade in dark alleys safe from prying eyes. Moon Knight, clings to the seedy corners of New York City's underworld, and Captain America wants to make sure he stays there. The Star-Spangled Avenger swings by to drop a little wisdom on the Fist of Khonshu:  stay out of the Civil War. And as if a verbal thrashing from Cap didn't sting enough enough, MK also needs to deal with someone copying his old foe The Midnight Man's MO, creating bloody clocks out of innocent people's grisly remains. Things just keep getting better and better for Marc Spector...

NOVA #2 (2007)
Since the Annihilation War, Richard Rider, has found himself soaring among stars more often than planted on terra firma. So when he finally returns to Earth, he finds out he's missed out on way more than his mom's home cooking. The news of the New Warriors' demise, the Stamford tragedy, the Civil War, and the subsequent Super Hero Registration Act hits him hard. The world Nova knew seems to have disappeared, and now Tony Stark wants him to join the Initiative.  Suddenly life in space seems a lot less complicated. But leave it to one of Rich's old foes, Diamondhead, to roll out the welcome mat and make Nova feel right at home before head butting him into next week. Welcome home, Nova, hope you survive your stay!

CAPTAIN AMERICA #30 (2004)
After blowing up in Baron Zemo's experimental drone plane way back in World War II, Bucky Barnes hasn't had much luck. Brainwashed by communists to become the perfect assassin, for years he terrorized the world as The Winter Soldier.  He eventually escaped his overlords and now he's taking the fight to those responsible for his mentor's death.  That means hunting down Crossbones, Sin, Alexander Lukin, The Red Skull, and Doctor Faustus. A tall order to be sure, especially with Tony Stark, The Falcon, Sharon Carter, and now The Black Widow all hot on his tail. But Bucky trained with the best, and he stands a better chance than anyone at bringing Cap's killers to justice. Will the Winter Soldier survive The Red Skull's machinations on his quest for vengeance?
