Every week we'll pick a handful of awesome comics from the thousands available through Marvel Digital Comics Unlimited. From creator spotlights to editor's picks and more, this'll be your spot to find something new and cool.

Beginning on June 15, celebrated writer Roger Stern revisits some of his old stomping grounds in the five-issue CAPTAIN AMERICA CORPS limited series illustrated by Philippe Briones. A cosmic crisis arises so dangerous that it will require the presence of U.S.Agent, American Dream, Commander A and not one but two Captains America to stem the tide! This week in Unlimited Highlights, get the scoop on a few of the patriots out to save the Marvel Universe this summer.

YOUNG AVENGERS PRESENTS #1

Following Civil War, Eli Bradley of the Young Avengers—aka Patriot—has some doubts about soldiering on as a hero in the new landscape of the Marvel Universe, so he seeks advice from a guy who knows a thing or two about adapting to challenging circumstances: Bucky Barnes, Captain America’s original partner, now the Winter Soldier. Bucky provides Eli with guidance by telling him the story of the original Patriot, Jeff Mace, a man called upon to pick up the shield of Captain America after Steve Rogers fell.

AMERICAN DREAM #1

The niece of Sharon Carter in a possible future, Shannon Carter has spent her entire young life idolizing Captain America and shaping herself into a patriotic hero for a new generation: American Dream. Shannon has proven herself many times over, even earning a spot on Earth’s Mightiest Heroes, the Avengers; but now with a new threat looming and old enemies coming out of the woodwork, American Dream will have to go solo to live up to her name!

CAPTAIN AMERICA (2004) #40

During the 1950’s after the original Captain America went missing, William Burnside aggressively pursued the mantle, even having surgery to physically alter himself into the spitting image of Steve Rogers. Unfortunately, the experimental Super Soldier Serum this new Cap ingested would slowly drive him insane, eventually making him a threat to his country and later his returning predecessor. Thought dead for years, Burnside has returned to find a new Captain America—Bucky Barnes—and he’s not too pleased about it.

THUNDERBOLTS #142

After failing to make the grade during his brief stint as Captain America, John Walker has sought redemption for years in the guise of U.S.Agent. While Walker has proven himself a dedicated hero, his brusque attitude and extreme methods have still often kept him at arms length from those who would be his allies. Well, judgment day has come for Asgard as Norman Osborn’s Siege has taken effect, and for U.S.Agent, a member of the Mighty Avengers, he’s got his opportunity to prove himself against a terrifying foe: Nuke, the most insane super soldier of them all.

CAPTAIN AMERICA: WHO WILL WIELD THE SHIELD? #1

Steve Rogers has returned from the “dead,” but will he be Captain America again? In his absence, Steve’s protégé, Bucky Barnes, has born the burden of the shield with gusto, taking on all comers and ultimately rescuing his mentor from the timestream. Will Bucky return to being the Winter Soldier? Can two men be Captain America? Steve and Bucky have both got some serious soul searching to do before they make the biggest collective decision they’ve ever faced.
