Beginning in July, Joe Casey and Nick Dragotta launch a six-issue ambitious odyssey across time, space and the Marvel Universe, drawing in characters familiar and obscure to explore the complex nature of good, evil, and what lies beyond in VENGEANCE.

Over a 12-day period, Marvel.com will unspool a mere sampling of this story’s sprawling cast and their histories, with Casey offering insight that provides both answers and more questions while Dragotta previews the visual genesis of VENGEANCE.

Get out your compass and then throw it away, as A Dozen Days of Vengeance will take you way off the map and on the path to the craziest adventure you’ve ever had!

The character going by Ultimate Nullifier will make his first appearance in VENGEANCE. However, the term from which he takes—or lends—his name has a history in the Marvel Universe, not to mention an ominous reputation.

The Ultimate Nullifier by Nick Dragotta

Reed Richards received the Ultimate Nullifier from The Human Torch—under the guidance of The Watcher—in 1966’s historic FANTASTIC FOUR #50. Purportedly capable of wiping out the entire universe, the Nullifier proved enough to intimidate Galactus himself away from consuming the Earth. The device has appeared sparingly since, and only in times of extreme peril for the Marvel Universe.

“Yeah, he named himself after the most mysterious, most powerful weapon in the Marvel Universe,” says Casey of the Ultimate Nullifier we’ll meet in VENGEANCE. “What're you gonna do about it? It's not a coincidence. You never know, maybe they named the weapon after him.”
